I think vlk explained this about as simple as it can be explained.

I do agree that some of the developers mentioned do need to go back to the drawing board regarding the holes in these firewalls and fix them.

What is the purpose of a firewall if it is not to control inbound and outbound traffic? If it doesn't do this, then something is seriously wrong.

I agree totally with you but instead of blame we should focus on a fix sooner rather than later.

There is the Avast! 8 Live Hangout on Air Invitation on Facebook. I don't know if this means that they are rolling on the final. Sounds like it might be Thursday or they'll give a date at least.

..they never classified avast as a good product did they?? :cautious:

and yet without looking at the new improvements in terms of 0-day they continue to bash avast:

    http://malwaretips.com/Thread-Avast-8-release-on-Thursday-hopefully?pid=107585#pid107585

Some people like Biozfear,McLovin and guest corp need to stop bashing and trolling and read atleast a bit of this avast thread and off course there are improvements coming along feb including evo-gen and upcoming sandbox improvements and vlk promised more stuff in ahead months ;)

LOL! Mclovin himself told its a beta so there can be bugs..how does he critize something that was called to be blocked was allowed to run..off course v8 is still in RC and RC is no less than a betao_O

It works well with OA free. As soon as it goes final, I'm using OA free, Avast 8 free and sandboxie. I never had a problem with running them together.

I have pretty much 100% quit posting on Malwaretips/ or even visiting that website for that exact reason. Over 90% of the population there are either Comodo fanboys or some hybrid but either way it has to do with comodo. Not that I have a problem with comodo per-se, I have a problem with people who are stuck up their...well, you know :D as for me, you could call me a avast! fanboy, but i recognize their flaws but still love them.

same here i was there for a bit and it didnt matter what the topic was about it ended up being about comodo and nothing ever worked as well no matter what any of the tests ended up showing. what was funny is a lot of the tests showed at times comodo missing something and it was always a "mistake" or because it was beta or etc etc but always a excuse as to why it missed something.

They can add what they want. When i install avast i only install Fileshield and Webshield. Everything else is bloat imo.

Then you clearly don't know what the other protection modules are designed to do.

On double contrary, you clearly DON'T. Read few pages back where i described a "checkpoints" system of how threats are identified.

Time, is a reason why we fight to stay alive, until the morning comes. It's a
strive but a shimmer in your Gui just makes me know. That you and I belong,
and you can light the dark up by your own. So let us show the world that the
    Avast! is strong*
Like a sign, like a dream. You're my Protection. You are all I needed, believe
me. Like a drift, in a stream. Your beauty is so real, there nothing else in
life I ever need. My dream of avast .
Time goes by as days and nights are turning in tilt, but I'm lying in your
Hands. It's the place were I know I'm closest to your Protection, when the darkest
hours are upon. I know you feel the same as I inside, it's feels like in a
    dream,

PS do will avast have special price for Version 8 release?

thats my song for Avast :thumb:
