I am facing the same age old issue as with other bitdefender products. When I play flash videos and close the video or the browser halfway bitdefender continues to download the video in the background thus slowing the internet for other purposes. But this time only firefox is affected and I am not facing this issue when using IE 10 in windows 8. But firefox is my primary browser for web browsing.

I was having slowdowns with Firefox and BD also.. pretty bad in fact. When I removed BD, the problem stopped. Going to have to use something else (AV) for a while and try again later. Not sure what's going on.

I did reset Firefox to the default settings and that seemed to help. As long as you don't mind re-installing all your extensions and userscripts.

This was a fresh image and new install of Firefox, only one extension, ABP. I can't really figure it out. I will give it another try when I have time, but there seems to be a problem with the two on my machine.

You could change a special registry key to turn off the webshield. :)

Can you be more specific regarding full vpn compatibility?
In our tests we didn't found issues with update, detection of infected files/websites on systems with bd antivirus free edition connected through vpn.

They are seeming to take their sweet time about this restore feature.

Hi azavoianu, that was just a question I wanted to clarify before I leave. If you did not find any issues its fine. I did not found any issues either... just wanted to be sure.

    Thanks,
    Habakuck

Does BD offer protection from USB flash drives and other USB related software?

I don't use that stuff much. Just wondering.

I'm sure it does thru on-access scan. Today I actually witnessed this.

Another thing I wanted to know is if BD is only for Internet protection or does it also protect the whole computer?

Yes, of course it does. It isn't a URL scanner, it's an antivirus. ;)

Not at all. As soon as USB malware tries to execute thru autorun, BD will scan it "on-access" and neutralize it.

By the way, I've been receiving several program updates lately that require a reboot. Anyone else experiencing this? I would like to see a changelog if the actual program is being updated.

    thanks atomomega

As far as the issue you're experiencing, I haven't had that problem with mine. It updates constantly without requiring any reboots. Ilkuia may know what's going on.

On demand scans are extremly slow and your computer will become sluggish. I think it's not designed to do on demand scans. :doubt:

I did an on demand scan a few days ago on a music folder and it did take forever. Maybe they'll work on that in the next update or two.
