The custom list is just a text file.

add at least one custom filter.

then check your install.ini file in the Ad Muncher folder for the location of CustomStrings.dat

then edit it with a text editor.

The previous filter I gave you would look like this:

    Gexample.com

Each line beings with a prefix that tells Ad Muncher which type of filter it is.

    G = block retrieval.

close Ad Muncher when replacing or modifying this file, then launch Ad Muncher.

Ad Muncher Discussion thread - Warning

I hope you don't have the same problem I did with the owner of Admuncher..
About a year or so ago I put a copy of Admuncher on my wife's netbook.(I already had it on my computer for a long time). I received an email saying I couldn't do that as I had only a single license (I usually buy 2 licenses for both of us) Anyway I immediately removed it from my wife's computer and only had it on mine since then.
A couple of weeks ago I got an email from Admuncher telling me they had cancelled my license as they said I had installed it on two computers on 29th Dec 2012
I wrote and said this wasn't true at all and that I had restored an image to my computer around that time (in fact I had done this a few times before) and I may have fixed the boot sector as I sometimes have Rollback Rx installed in case this was the reason he got the "more than one computer".
This guy did not have the courtesy to respond so BE WARNED !!! - I won't get burned by him again.
Now I use the free ones - they work fine.

I don't remember your case, but I respond to all e-mails.

We are more than willing to fix issues like this when it's obvious the user only made a mistake.

So I'm not sure what happened with you.

I work hard to make all of our customers happy.

Send me your e-mail address in a private message and I will look you up.

I got an email from Murry Hurps back in October 2010, which stated:-

"Your Ad Muncher license may have been stolen, as it is in use on 4
installations but is only valid for 1 simultaneous installation."

After, I replied explaining why it appeared that way, all was fine.

I was using a program that made it look like I was using Ad Muncher on separate computers, but in fact it was the same C: drive.

I'll use the same answer that Blizzard gives when asked for the millionth time when something will be done... Coming Soon™. That's basically it, it's been asked about for going on years now and the answer stays the same. It'll be done when they're done with it.

no offense to those who choose to munch the ads but i 've always had difficulty in understanding why some choose to pay for an adblocker while ther're plenty of free alternatives, adblock plus being one of them.

If you are just looking to block adds with Mozilla FF then adblock plus works just fine. Sure it might not have all the features but it works.

For me the upside of using ABP was the fact that AdMuncher was logging me out of flash applications, which was a compatibility issue.

This bug makes no sense to me at all.

I can't imagine how or why Ad Muncher would be doing this.

I'd be happy to look at it if you want.

Come to the IRC chat room and if I can duplicate the bug I will fix it.

That goes for any issue any user may have.

That's not true, just look up the problem with Palemoon

I won't get back into this again, if people want to know what
this is about they can search past posting's and decide for themselves

Shields Up at GRC says that port 1027 responds as "closed" instead of "stealth" for me - if i check CurrPorts it says this is Sprint but may be related to AdMuncher. (AdMuncher is listening on Port 1027?)

    anyone else got this?

maybe it can be fixed or perhaps its just a minor or irrelevant result.

Ad Muncher doesn't open any ports on its own.

it merely reflects whatever open ports any specific app opens it happens to be filtering.

so disabling Ad Muncher and see if that port closes...

Hmmm. I had that issue while using the trial version. That was one of the reason I was against buying AdMuncher during your Christmas promotion. My trial version is already expired.

The problem I described few messages above. Whenever I ran Admuncher and online flash content, I would get logged out every 15-20 seconds. This issue disappeared the moment I stopped Ad-muncher.

We aren't getting reports of this from anyone else.

this has to be related to something else you had installed.

Ad Muncher doesn't have the ability to do that.

it just doesn't work that way.
