Is it possible to remain anonymous, while using "Tor & it's Tor Browser"
    to maintain Privacy.

    1) if uploading any image file from PC to facebook - profile pic, photo albums etc

    2) if uploading any image file from PC to twitter - profile pic, photo albums etc

    3) if uploading any image file from PC to gmail, yahoomail, hotmail etc. - as an attachment

    4) if uploading any image file from PC to any image file hosts, such as flickr, imagevenue, imagebam, etc..

i was wondering , since for image uploads FTP is used i suppose

So is there risk of leaking ur "Original IP address" thus by image uploads ?

Do not overlook embedded metadata in photographs, if you take a photo with your mobile phone the GPS coordinates will often be embedded in the photo by default, if you take a photograph with a new digital camera, the digital camera serial number could be embedded depending on settings, if you are only posting old images that belonged to someone else it should be ok, otherwise scrub all metadata (search for "free metadata scrubber").

Image uploads in your browser do not use FTP, they are uploaded using HTTP. Some services might also block tor proxies to avoid abuse, theoretically it should be safe but it is best to use Tails because everything has been configured so that it is virtually impossible to leak your own computer IP by accident. As a parachute, if your computer is ever taken by the thought police, you should use Truecrypt to fully encrypt your hard drive if you are not using it yet.

    @ koningx

"ComputerSaysNo" posted the same kind of comment on a Truecrypt thread, you can safely ignore it, what you want tor for it is your own business and none of mine, no need to know really, I assume nothing and judge nobody.

Good points. Also worth noting is the possibility that one's camera and/or image processing software embeds information in images using a watermarking technique that typical scrubbers don't deal with.

Have you noticed how many boxes for electronic items have the item's serial number (and possibly other unique identifiers, such as MAC address) clearly marked (and often barcoded) on the outside of the retail box and sometimes even on the shipping labels? Where it can be easily scanned, in an automated fashion, by anyone who handles the box? There could also be an RFID involved. Even software can be affected via that route and/or unique identifiers embedded in it during manufacture and/or download from an online store. IOW, one should be aware of the possibility that (some) of their hardware/software could be linked to their name and thus its output could as well.

Many of the parties the OP mentioned are involved in "targeted advertising", "interest based advertising", "behavioral advertising" etc. Thus they and/or their advertising partners are highly likely to want to track, profile, and identify you. Various other commercial entities are interested in doing the same things and that includes many major manufacturers of hardware and software.

Thus there are significant privacy risks to even those who are squeaky clean and not concerned about "the authorities" (be it their own repressive government, some other government's snooping, etc).

Solution: Don't post any photos and videos of yourself on the internet.

  9. I once felt like you, but then I saw what Tor has become and the reality is not very good and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. That's all I say.
