Maybe if I wasn't using a two way firewall, I wouldn't have a problem with BDFA.

But that doesn't explain why I have to turn off the power button then turn it on again when it goes to sleep or shut the lid. o_O

No such problem with any other av I've tried on this machine.

ZoneAlarm® Free Antivirus + Firewall 2013 is equal of BDFA without bugs! I should say BDFA would be the equal of ZoneAlarm® Free Antivirus + Firewall 2013 if it didn't have bugs and had a fw. :)

My point is that it will be one of best av's when fix the bugs!!!

    It's buggy!

It doesn't have to have a fw, there are some good free ones. :D

Is a two-way firewall necessary for the average computer user?

I'm not gonna lie. I like my pron. lol

Actually let me ask this question. What two-way firewall is just as good as Comodo but works flawlessly with BDAV?

Depends how well protected you are elsewhere. If you are running a SBIE then you don't need it. Alternatively you can run NoScript, just make sure you don't disable it when you are lurking down the dark corners of the net (can be tricky if you want to play flash videos).

If you are not using the two above then I would recommend MBAM and a very good AV which provides protection against scripts. That should give you 99% protection. For that 1% or 0.1% I would throw in an anti-executable like NVT ERP.

My current setup as of now is Panda Cloud Free Edition, Comodo Firewall & MBAM free. For browser protection I only use Simple Adblock which does a fine job blocking ads. Of course that can't really be considered protection. No problems at all with this combination to date.

NoScript only works with Mozilla Firefox...what about Opera users like me? And, the thread above dealing with a 2 way firewall, Oh, ya, you better use one. Don't even think about a one way firewall. Get in there, and see what is trying to run outbound, you may have something you didn't know was there.

This issue will be fixed in the next product update (Thank you for your cooperation with us :) ).

Also the compatibility issue with Comodo and Chrome was fixed and will be in place in the next product update as well.

    Obviously, yes.

Unfortunately there isn't one right now. I hope we will have one as soon as possible in the next update. But if this works for you and there are no side effects you can continue using it.

Ask away The Early Launch Anti-Malware technology offered by Windows 8 isn't the same thing as Early Boot Scanning technology incorporated in Gonzales (AV Free and other products and technologies). In fact it was developed before any news about Windows 8 were released.

We say ours is better and it works on all supported operating systems (Windows XP SP2 or greater)

When will be the next product update?
Is it a matter of days, weeks or months?

If nothing major arises then this product update will be delivered in a couple of weeks.
You can be assured if any major bug is discovered then we will always provide a product update as soon as it's fixed.

Until the next product update would it work out if I kept comodo firewall and disabled Defense+? From what I hear it's the Defense+ that doesn't get along with Bitdefender. Unless it's also the firewall.

I have windows 8 which has .net framework 4.5. Does bitdefender free separately install .net framework again?

Installed. It runs light:thumb: I noticed that whenever it quarantined a file the file was renamed in its original folder rather than taken to a separate quarantine folder. After I removed the file from quarantine the renamed file was deleted.

Once BDA becomes compatible with Comodo Firewall I'll be on it like white on rice. In the meantime I don't want to make any brash decisions.
