Size is everything!

When i am on-line I only get a narrow display, I have about 1 1/2 inches left on both sides of the display. How do I or can I change this to a full page?

can you post a screenshot + what OS and did you try changing the resolution. Does it affect every application or only browser? I'm assuming you have maximised it

 

I am using Win 7 and everything is ok, but the when on the net. The resolution on the PC is just fine. It is the resolution on the internet that is smaller than it could/should be.

 

Follow on the resizing! I went back in and changed the resolution to a much smaller size than recommended and the size is now as I wanted.

Good advice to follow, especially with the Adobe Acrobat printing mode which may be inaccessible at standard resolution. Switching temporarily to a smaller resolution can fix that issue.

 

Very strange problem. - What was and what is now your resolution exactly? - I saw old systems that couldn't run big resolutions on newer monitors, yes. (Not enough gfx ram probably?). There you had to cut down the resolution ... but the system I have in mind was running win2k before!

Whatever .. you should be able to run "native" resolution without problems. Google your monitor and what that native resolution is and then use it.

p.s.: just wondering .. could hardware acceleration in browsers have something to do with it? Having the problem only with browser? Maybe gfx solution is too weak?

 

Native resolution is fine for every day use. Certain applications may need a lower resolution sometimes and its appropriate to switch when its required.

 

I thought the OP had the problem with browsers? Being online? - That should be the definition of everyday use, don't you think?

 

I am now running a resolution of 1024X768. The PC, by the way is a laptop recommends a resolution of 1600X900, which will be way too small for me to use.
