Temporary solution is to cancel the Mircosoft Outllook in the Email Client Integration. But you will lost the function of anti-spam.

In Outlook 2013 got to File > Options > Add-Ins > Manage Add-Ins and uncheck the box for Eset Outlook Add-In.

Re-start Outlook and automatic send/receive miraculously start working again.

Personally I'm not bothered about anti-spam as I receive virtually no spam and when the Eset add-in has detected something it has always been a false positive.

As long as ESS is still scanning email and any attachments then I am satisfied for now.
Obviously it would be good to fix the bug sooner rather than later.

Office 365 has just been released, this includes Office 2013

Outlook fails when Outlook Integration is enabled
Disabling the integration allows Outlook to work

This is definitely an ESET Smart Security issue

I've noticed the same thing on Windows 8 with Office 2013. I am just running NOD32 Antivirus and not the suite. I have had to disable the Integration into Microsoft Outlook from within ESET to be able to automatically have send/receive functionality.

With the integration enable, I have to manually do a send/receive.

With EAV, you don't lose any functionality if you disable integration with an email client as email received via pop3/imap is scanned regardless of the email client used.

It's been already said that a fix will be included in the upcoming service build.

Right but not ETA was given correct? Are there any workarounds that I've missed?

I've had to uninstall Eset for the first time ever sad to say. For this issue, and a few others.

Should be available soon. There's no ETA yet. When available, it will be announced via the official channels as well as here at Wilders'. As mentioned elsewhere, it's possible to disable integration with MS Outlook if you don't need the antispam plug-in or downgrade to v5 for the time being.

I figured as much. Thanks Marcos. Just a bit frustrated with this release I have to say.

Well, better days are coming. Looking forward to seeing what the new build includes.

    Thanks.
