    It is a big improvement, however . . . .

Keyscrambler personal 2.9 also worked with IE10 preview on windows 7, I have IE10 only allowing to connect to the IP-addresses of my banks over port 443, checking for valid certificates, only allowing ssl 1.1 and 1.2, with no caching of encrypted data (and GPO locked startpage). Keyscrambler is the only admin allowed add-on/bho. This sort of mimics Trusteer's protection (without the check whether IE's executable/dll's are changed).

I use chrome for daily browsing which was not protected (and did not cost me any CPU cycles ). Liked the old Keyscrambler over Zemana free, because Zemana used up more CPU cycles of my old E5200 low end dual core, so for me the old disadvantage was an advantage :p

Still good on keyscrambler, to match the new technology (no add-ons) :thumb:

Your overall security setup is very light so you should feel no affects on system performance with Zemana.

True, but you don't want to know how much time I spend on pushing the last bit of (horse)power out of my motorbikes. When something has RPM's or MHz clockcycles I can't help myself, I need to tune it. :ninja:

    Daaaaamn! :argh: :thumb:

Do note that the free version of KeyScrambler only protects your web browsers while Zemana AntiLogger Free protects all programs.

Tested the Personal with Xenotix Keylogger https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=340941

    Installed it into FF v3.6.14

Typed in my user name "CloneRanger" then "KeyScrambler" as PW

    XK showed both

    kst.png

Now this "might" be due to

    ks.png

But FF is "supposed" to be a protected application !

So i can't actually say KS failed as shown right now, due to "some" problem. Quite what it is i'm not sure at the moment ? Maybe someone can suggest something :thumb:

I have WSA & Zemana installed too, so "possibly" there "could" be a clash of some sorts ?

Anyone know the procedure for upgrading from 2.9.2 to 3.0 in Firefox?

  11. I have a license, but the software needs to expand features such as clipboard, screen grab etc....

I agree. Keyscrambler simply won't protect you from malware that targets your browser, because modern malware mainly uses form-grabbing - not keylogging.

However, it will protect non-browser applications and it will protect from any commercial keylogger that uses key capture methods of logging.

    Apparently not !

When i said "Installed it into FF v3.6.14" I should have said (Installed it & used FF v3.6.14) :(

No mention of this version not being compatable with my version of FF !

"Possibly" that's why it "seemed" to fail in my test ? Even though the taskbar icon is Orange !

....well, I've never seen a single reputable test which KS has passed, and I can't think of any recent malware that it would protect from. It advertises itself as "Its innovative method always keeps one step ahead of the bad guys"....but who exactly are these bad guys it does protect from....because it's not Zeus and all the other banking malware variants.

The downside of that though is that I'm afraid that extended coverage could create conflicts, namely with my Comodo D+.

I like that KS is a simple plugin to my browser and not a dedicated program with an interface and everything running real-time. And now I'm concerned that that may be lost with this new version 3.0. I hear there's no longer a plugin needed. Is that because there's some process/program running all the time now? If so I'd rather keep version 2.9.3. I only need it to protect Firefox. I don't care that it now works with 30 other browsers too... that doesn't do me any good personally. And sounds like it can only result in making things more cumbersome, despite it's claims of being lighter (every program makes that claim after every update). But how can it possibly be lighter than the 0 footprint it adds now?

As I look at what's new I don't see anything that specifically benefits me. No actual improvements in the technology being deployed or anything. Just more compatibility with newer OS's and more browsers.

So I'm a bit reluctant to even bother upgrading. What good would it do me personally?

I couldn't get version 3.0 to work in Firefox 18 or 19 Beta.
The tray icon would usually be yellow. Only when I manually right clicked on the icon and click on the 'KeyScrambler On' label would the icon turn green.
On launch, protection would usually fail to activate.

Reverting back to version 2.9.3.0 seems to have solved the problem.

I've unchecked the automatic update feature, I'm staying with version 2.9.3.0, and hoping that QFX straightens this out soon.

    Not good !

Yes, see my Post # 13

Mine is Orange. But i suppose it's sort of yellowish ! Unless yours is actually Yellow ?

Same here, but mine shows, ON but not in a protected application = Orange. OFF = Red

FF is not protected, as it should be ?

So it's not just me that's experiencing issues with this version :(

My issue with KS is that after I installed the new version my numeric keypad stopped working.. and after pressing randomly the keys on occasion they will spew some random keystroke instead of number.

:thumb: ViVek thanks, for the link to Sandboxie.
I used the first option and works great for Chrome.

What a mess... this is why I don't rush to update things as soon as they become available.

I have my reasons for hanging onto SBIE v3.76 as well. So by association that means I will also keep KS v2.9.3, since the new v3 doesn't get along with SBIE and will need to wait until a SBIE update to remedy it.

It's to the point I'm not sure I'll ever update any of my security software ever again. Just my browser, OS, flash and plugins. Everything is working fine just the way it is and I'm gonna leave well enough alone. All the updates seem to just be compatibility for new Windows OS's anyway, and do me no good whatsoever.

Unless I find out there's a major vulnerability that affects me in Comodo 5.10, SBIE 3.76, or KS 2.9.3 in XP... I'm hangin onto them as is.

Oh, and also I think there's some confusion over what KS is designed to do. It isn't like Zemana and doesn't pretend to be. And I'm thankful for it. If you want screen capture and/or clipboard protection, personally I'd recommend getting yourself a HIPS. And anything that would do those things (i.e. Zemana), I'd personally be afraid would conflict with my HIPS/D+, let alone being overlap.

And KS also isn't going to prevent, or stop keylogger from getting onto your computer. Once again, that's the job of antimalware solutions, HIPS, virtualization, etc... If you end up with something like Zeus on your box, then some other part of your setup has failed you. And you can't expect KS to remedy that problem or protect you at that point.

It is designed only to encrypt your keystrokes. That's it, nothing more. And it does that job for me just fine. And I hope that's ALL it ever does, and doesn't try to expand it's role. Because then it would just end up being overlap/possible conflict for me.

I have SRP, D+ and SBIE set up to prevent things like Zeus from getting onto my computer... not to mention NoScript and my discretion as an end user. I also have keyboard access blocked for everything on my box, and can type just fine with it that way. So I don't understand why things ask for it?... KS is there to scramble my keystrokes just in case some site is shady and tries to capture my keystrokes, so that all it sees is gibberish. And likewise even if you happen to get a keylogger, scramble your keys to foil it's plans. But it is certainly not going to stop trojans like Zeus from getting on your box, again. And it doesn't pretend it can. That isn't it's job.
