Seems like this particular beta doesn't go along XP at all.
My XP SP3 didn't take it at all, was slow + HDD was going crazy (HDD activity was up). I uninstalled it and I'm waiting for next beta to try it again.

Some other users have reported this as well.

When I used XP I found even when using prior versions of Avast AV that I had to let it start after all other boot processes so it wouldn't slow my computer down. Now that I'm using WIN7 64x it doesn't have an impact.

Thanks for the heads up. Not gonna try it on my XP VM.

    Cheers.

For what it's worth it's behaving well enough on my XP VM - nothing out of the ordinary so far.

Same here. Running XP x32 with SP3 and no problems to report at the moment.

Downloaded an hour ago over AIS 7 and looks good...even seems to be lighter than V7 which is encouraging. We shall see....:thumb:

It seems to work pretty well in the latest tests. I'm seeing quite a lot of "FileRepMalware" detections, meaning they are more aggressively deploying their cloud system. I just wish their Auto Sandbox Dyna engine would be more active. I'm still waiting to witness a "Dyna:" marked detection in any Youtube test...

The Dyna detection names are never shown in the UI, so there's no wonder you haven't seen those.
The AutoSandbox just reports that the file is infected.

Vlk mentioned in this article that some toys should be working during Jan/Feb.
As you said they are working a lot on their cloud infrastructure, I saw many "FileRep" detections as you said.

    Like it, compact and bijoux!
Only problem I've encountered so far is that the safezone browser forgets its settings, i.e. adding home button and setting homepage, even though sandbox isn't purged and browsers settings are cached.

    Other than that, great!

Well, i haven't seen a single file that got marked as INFECTED anywheren (not on my system, not on Google or in any Youtube video) so how could i possibly know? All i see is Dyna: signatures being added in the VPS history logs...

I'd be really glad if anyone at avast! Software can make a tiny video clip of a real world malware being detected inside Auto Sandbox using Dyna behavior signatures. Because that would be the first documented case ever and i want to see it.:D

Is anyone else having consistent issues with their internet connections after disabling and re-enabling the shields? If I turn off the shields temporarily to do something like play an online game, when I turn them back on and open my browser, I'm never able to get to any websites. If I shut the shields off again or do a reboot, all is well and quite frankly websites load a hell of a lot faster. My main concern though is not being able to connect out after temporarily disabling the shields. Windows 7 x64.

Why would you want to disable any shields while playing an online game? It makes no difference in any possible aspect as far as performance goes.

I always shut down background programs when I'm gaming (not talking about web-based games), a lot of folks do. That's not really the point though, the question remains why Avast seemingly kills my internet connection when I re-enable them. Avast v7 did not have this issue.

A lesser "issue" but weird regardless is why it feels the need to remind me I have 364 days of protection left, yet it's time to renew it. It does this multiple times a day for the last few days. The poor thing evidently doesn't know how to count.

What is the best setting for saving downloads if the browser is set to run sandboxed. If save trusted files is ticked all history and data is saved. So with this setting how is the sandbox protection working.

It's a beta, and the first public build as well, you should expect issues.

Which is why I asked if anyone else had seen the issue besides me.
