Tarnak, you have in your startup Folder a shortcut which refers to a program which doesn't exist, HitmanPro just wants to remove the Shortcut.

    Solutions:
    1- Check your C:\Windows\Erdnt\Autobackup directory
2- Check the shortcut if it refers to the right program. The shortcut is in
    C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Oke, then it could be that HitmanPro can't handle the parameters #Date# etc. I use Erunt also, but I don't use it via a Startup Link but have it scheduled via a CMD to run while my PC is in Idle (But only once a Day)

Lets wait what EL has to say :)

    Regards

I have it run automatically at boot, so that is probably why I have the Startup link. :)

    Cheers

Also, I do have 2 versions of Adobe Reader in the program folder, in this snapshot.

Can you verify whether these files: reader_sl.exe and nsi.exe actually exist in the mentioned folders?

Nothing in those locations, which means that HMP detection is correct this case.

I've investigated and it looks like a handy tool :) . The tool itself is a keylogger, clipboard stealer, etc. But that is the sole purpose of this tool: test whether your AV is blocking theft. This behavior can trigger AVs to block the tool and subsequent they can publish signatures for it.
I'd say the tool is save to use to test your PC security installation.

Yes, I'm using it sometimes as well, to test security, but older versions were never detected, and this one is so with the strange things like complete silence and then new versions coming out but support not answering so I thought it might include more 'functions' than just testing functionality.
But thanks for the investigation :)

From what I could see (by searching for specific keywords), in 2010 someone mentioned he/she would like to see HitmanPro to have an option to exclude stuff. I believe it was for files.

I'm wondering if HitmanPro folks have any intentions of implementing an exclusion option (both GUI and command-line), but for folders? I checked the PDF file, but I couldn't see any command-line option there, so I suppose it's not implemented yet.

    Thanks

For most computers, Kickstart works right away. Check out my previous post on how to solve problems.

There are no plans for a lifetime license. This as we have no idea which partners will be in our cloud in the future.

HitmanPro can be run for unlimited time but it just lacks the removal option. The licence is only needed if you are going to remove malware which I suppose does not happen on daily bases. HitmanPro is cheap program and I don't think (my opinion) it needs lifetime licence for the removal. Software companies don't make money from lifetime licenses, they are from humans and need to survive, too. So if you like SurfRight and HitmanPro, just pay them some money for the license (1 lic for 3 years - about 48 $) to support their development, they are so active in forums and the program is good and needs support.
