    See here

The offer was meant to end on the 31st of December, but it was extended for one month. I installed Outpost Security Suite Free a few days ago, as I liked the Pro version when I had a couple of years ago via giveawayoftheday, and wanted an alternative to Bitdefender free, due to its automatic deletion of threats.

I am about to install the pro version, I used it a couple of years back when it was given away at giveawayoftheday and really liked it. The free version is at 7.1 but the Pro version is new version 8 with Windows 8 support.

Even if you don't want to purchase the pro version, the free version is worth a try.

There have been concerns about the detection rates, but it has done well in Virus Bulletin tests, and also is very light.

I read somewhere too, where Agnitum said it is a true lifetime licence - e.g. it is forever, and also I believe the same article said there was an unlimited number of activations allowed.

It is a true lifetime license and yes unlimited activations are allowed, the only criteria is you can only use it on 3 PC's simultaneously.

Agnitum has a great firewall with lots of HIPS customizations.

The AV will start to develop well soon hopefully.

I bought the lifetime license back in 2008 (I think, maybe 2009) and I've never had any problem using it with any version. I stopped using it regularly when it trashed my Vista install back at the time and hesitate to trust it again. I want to like it, using it would save me from buying the other product I use. I've also had many problem with the antispam crashing Outlook over the years. If they get it all stabilized I will consider using it, but until then I'll stick with other products.

That said if you think you will ever use it the license truly does seem to be lifetime, and the firewall portion is one of the best.

Good Evening ! Just took advantage of the Outpost Security Suite 8.0 Lifetime Offer...some things are just too good to pass up...I'm going to tandem it with WSA Essentials...should be a very decent one two punch. Sincerely...Securon

Yes, definitely too good to miss in my opinion - and that's coming from someone who rarely spends money on security software.

I really like the user interface, and I would say it fares better against malware than some testing indicates as the HIPS will pick up some malware which is missed in scans.

$59.95 for a 3 PC lifetime license is pretty much only $20 per PC.

It is a bargain, I bought one of these licenses back when I first heard about the deal ages ago and don't regret it at all.

Yes - it's still available at the price, and my Outpost Pro (which is still unregistered as I have not entered my serial number yet) is still telling me the offer ends in one day.

I really am linking Outpost Pro, as its clear that a lot of though has gone into the design of product. For example, when you run a scan and it find threats, you can choose to ignore a threat by ignoring the file detected, or to ignore all instances of the the threat - not just that single file detected. Also, by default it does a scheduled scan every morning at 1 AM, but rather than do a full scan - it does a quick scan with the task running at low priority to reduce CPU use.
