If you don't know what it is, it is something like CCleaner. I consider them complementary.

    Release notes
    v1.6.0 (03 January 2013)
    - Improved secure files deletion
    - Improved registry cleanup
    - Improved free space cleanup on FAT
    - Improved free space cleanup on NTFS
    - Improved smart cleanup of free space
    - Improved MFT cleanup
    - Improved bad sectors handling
    - New cookies management
    - Improved Hibernation management
    - Improved Pagefile.sys management
    - Improved restore points management
    - Improved localstorage management
    - Improved UI

From the limited testing I have done so far, it is very thorough. Do not let the sometimes poor translation/spelling fool you. I'll do my share to help the developer improve on that.

"New Cookies Management" Does it work with Chrome, and if so, can you set certain cookies to keep like CCleaner?

I don't use Chrome but Chrome is amongst the supported browsers. There are settings where you can indicate you want to keep certain cookies. So all signs point to "yes".

I do have this installed but i dont use it as often as ccleaner as its a relatively new program and im keeping up with the feedback about it.
I have not had any issues with it but it looks more of a deeper cleaner than ccleaner so care should be taken.:)

It did all the deep cleaning stuff and my PC still boots:D. Seriously though, I would create a full image first so that when things go south, you can at least recover to an earlier state.

The free space erase and MFT cleaning are solid. I checked with Winhex and a tool called MFT-read.

    I think it also clears
    - $logfile
    - the file journal
    - and the $i30 thingy (please read about it here)

Development still going strong:). For the Dutch speaking amongst us, I've corrected the Dutch translation. Let me know if I made mistakes somewhere (which is quite likely:))

PrivaZer wants to be #1 computer cleaner
I am new to Wilders Security Forums and I came here by accident but now learn a lot from everyone here. I just wanted to say that I have been in touch with the PrivaZer team and they would like any suggestions that anyone would like to send them on how they can make PrivaZer a better software product. I myself have given them a couple of suggestions and they were open to listening to me and now they are going to be implementing my suggestions. Just for the record the PrivaZer team has told me that they want to be the only software you’ll ever need to clean up your computer. I know it’s a lot of work but that is where they are going. I have been using computer cleaners for a long time now and I really like this PrivaZer. They are working hard to get there and if they keep doing upgrades to their software, they just might get there do be #1. I have told them to look at R-Wipe and East Tech Eraser to get some ideas. If anyone has some suggestions please do not hesitate to contact them.

My suggestion is for one or more of the devs to come here and introduce themselves, and that way they can have meaningful dialog with their users in a single thread. NoVirusThanks did just that, and their software is developing at very quick rate.

It's an incredible piece of software. I think I posted back when it came out last year that in 'scan mode' it's almost a forensics tool as much anything else. If you do nothing else but "scan" before you "clean" it's worth the download. I was shocked at how deep that sucker goes. Really, the best of the best - already.

I agree. I was skeptical at first, with the "who the heck is *this* company?" thought that I bet most of us had :D

I like it a lot. I would love for them to join here, like Countermail did.

Combined with BCWipe Transparent Wiping, they make an awesome combo, IMO.

Jetico also accepts suggestions and implements them...I'd like to take credit for their new tray icon :D

  17. Agree I use both PrivaZer & BCwipe. Wonderful combo.:thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

The only thing I wish PrivaZer would implement more wiping algorithms like BCwipe.

Are you using the latest version? After the scan you're presented with the window that has "Cleanup Options" at the bottom.

It then looks like this and I think the choices are pretty much the same as BCWipe:

    priv1.jpg

and then you have these options:

  19. Yes I am. Never seen that option, strange :( Where do you locate it?

After you run the scan here is the screen you're looking at. I arrowed the cleanup options. Just click and you get the screens I posted a few minutes ago.

You're very welcome. Don't feel bad, I didn't discover it until fairly recently. That's why I asked if you had the latest version as it might be new, not sure - but now you know.

Most Free Space wipers work by creating one very large file...that *should* get deleted when finished. I definitely wouldn't try to use the box during a free space wipe...just let it run and walk away. Did Privazer eventually return your free space?

I sent Privazer a message about starting to scramble files and property after deleting and also implementing algorithms, they said in one message back to me that they are going to implement the scramble files and property and then sent me this. Just trying to keep everyone informed on Wilders Security Forums.

As Lockbox said in the thread, PrivaZer has implemented numerous wiping algorithms.
What I could add to this, is that we've implemented wiping algorithms for HDD and for SSD

    HDD :
1 PASS ------ British HMG IS5, Baseline Standard
3 PASSES ------ British HMG IS5, Enhanced Standard
    2 PASSES ------ Russian GOST P50739-95
3 PASSES ------ German Federal Office for Information Security
    3 PASSES ------ USA Navy NAVSO P-5239-26
3 PASSES ------ USA DoD 5220.22-M Department of Defense
3 PASSES ------ Canada Communications Security Establishment ITSG-06'
    7 PASSES ------ German VSITR
    7 PASSES ------ Bruce Schneier''s Algorithm
    7 PASSES ------ Canadian RCMP TSSIT OPS-II
    35 PASSES ----- Peter Gutmann''s Algorithm

    SSD :
1 PASS ------ All zero Pass
    2 PASSES ------ USA-AF AFSSI 5020
    3 PASSES ------ USA Navy NAVSO P-5239-26
3 PASSES ------ USA DoD 5220.22-M Department of Defense
    3 PASSES ------ NISPOMSUP Chap 8, Sect. 8-501
    4 PASSES ------ NSA Manual 130-2
    5 PASSES ------ IREC (IRIG) 106
    6 PASSES ------ USA-Army 380-19

You can select them, once scans are finished by clicking "See cleanup options", as Lockbox wrote

Hope it helps members of the forum.

    Thanks.

  25. This is a great tool, a very deep cleaner. Using it with CCleaner & Bleachbit, great 3 way combo.

Just a question for developers, any chance of including a feature to load a winapp2.ini file for extended cleaning?
