Why not just use the portable version? Extract it, paste the folder to your program files and you're done. No installation, no registry additions and no more worrying about the slim build.

If Ccleaner wasn't so expansive for what it offers (when it comes to the pro version), I would buy it. They update pretty often :p kinda annoying update manually every time.

I like to keep the latest version on hand just in case.

I like the portable version more because once you run it and set your options / custom folders, then the settings are stored within the folder itself so if your f0rmat your PC the moment you run it from that folder then all your settings are intact, so you basically copy it to the folder where you usually save all your EXE setup files and forget it :)

Note that CCleaner Professional is licensed to a person, not a machine. Can be installed to any number of machines you own as long as it's for personal use (eg all machines in your home)

I noticed CCleaner doesn't clear your Temp folder in AppData. That seems like an area it should clean by default, but I had to add it to Custom folders to clear. Is there any reason I shouldn't do this?

I hope this fixes a small issue I have been experiencing on my XP setup wherein sometimes various Chrome extensions will become disabled... that is, they are not technically disabled, but they quit working just the same.
An uninstall/reinstall of the extension has been what I have used to fix.
Maybe it has been CC that has been breaking these extensions?
    I'll soon find out. :)

I would like to highlight this out as a FYI in case anyone here didn't know...

The difference between the Slim and the Standard build is that the latter offers to install Google Chrome (afaik). If you don't have Chrome installed, you have the option to un-check it. If you have Chrome installed, it won't do anything. If download size matters to you, the Standard build is about 1MB bigger...

I do. It adds a lot of extra programs/options to the base install of ccleaner.

Yes, I realize and know most of those bits. I dislike the full installers and wanted those that cannot and do not want to have the bother of fiddling with files and folders to make a new slim build aware that the new slim installer had not yet been released. Over the next week or so it will be available.
