I got the FBI ransomware trojan. ESET NOD32 missed it and I had a tech guy working on my machine to get rid of it. He did, using Malwarebytes.

In the process, however, my ESET was corrupted and I believe some files were removed. I am trying to reinstall but the process stops saying the source file is unavailable, and then that the older version of ESET is not uninstallable. My machine is running Win7Home.

The unavailable source location is: \\12.12.12.12\apps\1ST\ESET 4.2\
It tells me to browse and find the right location, but I have no idea where that would be.

Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!

This is an IP Address for a windows networked mapped drive location. You would need to discuss with tech guy at the company to grant you access to this file.

Ah, thank you, Geosoft. I also had opened a support request with the same information, so hopefully they'll reply with the solution.

You can uninstall EAV in safe mode using the Uninstall tool and then install the latest version 6.0.308 from scratch.
