it would be so awesome to have a x64 build of MD. I wouldn't hesitate to install it on my System. I guess I would use it like Appguard (silent mode = locked down, learning mode = install mode etc...). Also MD gives detailed Information about whats going on on your Computer. Really nice program indeed and it's free.

MD has a similar Interface like Winpatrol however I am not sure if they can be compared in Terms of Intrusion prevention. Winpatrol Plus is supposed to have a realtime Intrusion protection but I have no experience with Winpatrol although I have a license for it. I know from MD that if you set it up to Silent Mode nothing will get past it, period!:thumb:

I'm not sure if I've got the right set up so any feedback that anyone can give me will be much appreciated.

I'm using: Avast AV, Comodo FW and D+, EMET 3.0, Sandboxie (paid), Shadow Defender, Ad Muncher. MBAM and Hitman Pro free on demand.

I browse with Firefox using NoScript, Better Privacy, Key Scrambler and WOT. I also use Dragon and Opera without any add ons as I don't do anything sensitive in those browsers.

I did try AppGuard and did want it to work out but it just made my system really slow and streaming was a nightmare. I also felt that I maybe didn't need it.

Is there anything which is excessive or I might need to add? I do find my set up uses over 1.7 gb of ram which is a lot.

Already trying Malware Defender in learning mode.
It offers great control, i'm very impressed :thumb:

    Task Manager shows:

    MalwareDefender.exe - 4.336K
    mdservice - 1.052K

    Still happily using XP SP/2.

I recently abandoned IE8 for Firefox 18, then updated to version 19 Beta with Adblock Plus, Flash Video Downloader, Translate This, and Keyscrambler.
FF almost always stays inside of Sandboxie and all downloads are sandboxed, then scanned with MBAM Pro. MBAM website blocker and fileshield stay on.
    MBAR has also been installed.
I also added Trusteer Rapport for non-sandboxed banking.
It was a freebie from a financial institution I do business with. Can't beat that !

WinPatrol Plus remains and I use CCeaner and Glary Utilities freeware version 2.6.0.228 for cleaning. I also use Glary for it's Disk Analysis tool.
Comodo Time machine (version 2.6) remains and performs great for me.
I use both Macrium Free and Paragon B&R 10 free for imaging.

I'm still searching for the right e-mail provider.
AT&T/Yahoo sucks, GMail started out ok but now is becoming a PITA due to intrusive ads.
I want something free, clean, and reliable.

Decided to add back realtime after much consideration.

    Comodo's my choice.

Have now installed Comodo Firewall V6 (as per Chiron's guide) in Windows 8 Pro – using Sandboxie in preference to Comodo's Kiosk though. (can't see myself getting weaned off Sandboxie!) ;)

I'm using what's in my sig. Considering adding MBAR. But MBAM is supposed to remove rootkits right? Why a separate app like MBAR needed?:doubt:

That's kind of a loaded question. It's also against forum policies to ask A vs B or in this case which do you like better.
