Hello, I use Nod32 5.2.9.12 64 bits with Windows XP pro X64. The problem is with EGUI. Sometimes it always stays on 50% until I reboot. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/812/egui.jpg/
Hello Fidelius If I remember right, you can create a dump this way. When the issue occurs, then find egui.exe in the Task Manager. Right click on egui.exe and from the context menu choose create dump file. When it has created the dump file it will tell you were it has placed the file. Regards , Janus
I use windows xp. When I right click in the task manager, there is no drop down menu for creating a dump. I see define priority, kill process, define affinity.
Hello Fidelius So sorry...my bad..I am sitting behind windows 8 and I obviously went on autopilot, you wrote xp in your first post. Hope you can use this instead : Generating a memory dump file Regards, Janus
I use a workaround. I kill the process egui then I start again "Eset nod32 antivirus" in order to have the small gree icon. The dump generates nothing but I will take a closer look about this feature.
I have more usefull informations now. The event viewer, System, of windows xp pro x64 says this when EGUI.EXE is always at 50% : ********************************************************* Type de l'événement*: Erreur Source de l'événement*: Service Control Manager Catégorie de l'événement*: Aucun ID de l'événement*: 7031 Date*: 10/01/2013 Heure*: 19:40:44 Utilisateur*: N/A Description*: Le service ESET Service s'est terminé de manière inattendue. Ceci s'est produit 1 fois. L'action corrective suivante va être effectuée dans 0 millisecondes*: Redémarrer le service. ******************************************************** ---> The 2 messages say the same thing. ID of the event : 7031 In short it says : "error, the ESET service stopped in an unexpected way. This happened one time. The following action will be done in 0 millisecond : Restart the service". Moreover, Eset Nod32 v 5.2.15.1 has generated a memory dump file called "ESET_50EF0B21.dmp" at the same time and date this error occured (size 160 KB). Its location is : C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\Diagnostics What do I do now ?
It's important to submit any dumps from ekrn crashes to ESET. If there are more recent dmp files in the Diagnostics folders, compress them, create a SysInspector log and add it to the archive, upload the archive to a safe location and PM me the download link.
Just to say that the same problem has occured again with version 6.0.306.3 after playing a 3D game. This time, the event viewer of Windows XP pro x64 did not show an error message and Nod32 v6 did not generate any dump file.
