Is there a list explaining each type of malicious software?

i found an entry in wikipedia:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malware

but i dont know if there is something else... explaining the latest forms of malware too: rootkits, keyloggers, crimeware..

    Found this, too:
    http://support.kaspersky.com/614

But keep in mind that not all malicious things fall into the category of "malicious software". You can be compromised if a bad guy brute-forces your password on some account, your browser cookies can be stolen when you unknowingly get redirected to a malicious website, etc. All of that can happen without any malicious software being installed on your machine. Here's a basic description of that kind of stuff:

(I disagree with some of the conclusions in this article, but the definitions of the attacks are adequate)

What's your motivation for finding a list?
