SecurityKISS VPN - one of the best I've tried, interested in hearing opinions

I have just discovered this VPN called SecurityKISS, and I don't know why it took me so long to find it. I was surprised that not many people know about it too. I want to bring this to yall's attention and get ppl's opinion on this.

I've tried BolehVPN, AlwaysVPN (pre-paid), hotspot shield, and a bunch of others programs, and I have to say, I am still very impressed by SecurityKISS. It gives you 300MB free VPN use with about 10 locations to choose from, which includes several locations in US, UK, many european countries, meaning you can watch Hulu, netflix, UK shows, etc, etc. It is fast too and I don't usually feel much difference when the VPN is on or off.

It also supports all the major platforms (PS, etc).

What's more is there's 300MB free use daily! The paid version, around 5 Euro a month for 50GB is also very good, and has about triple the IPs/server locations to choose from in maybe 20+ locations.

Is it just me, or is this the dream VPN? Why isn't everyone using it? Has anyone had experience with this? I'm very interested in learning about what people here think of it. It seems it is widely recommended on a couple of other forums.

No. Free is crap in 99% of cases. A good VPN will set you back a maximum of $10USD per month.

 

There are Unlimited VPN's with faster speeds and better privacy agreements that also cost 5 euro a month.

 

I'm not looking for a big deal here, just something to cover my as when using Wi-Fis in coffeehouses.

 

your funny , your not looking for a big deal here to cover your ass , well news flash using the internet is a big deal , coffeehouse or not , jesus, you may not like this but thats how it is and being cheap about it isnt gona change the situation either , and if its really not a "big deal" just because your looking for a "free" vpn then just use the wifis as is youll be more secure than using any "free" vpn thats for sure

matter of fact both arent good at all , aka it shouldnt stand to debate to use "free" vpns in the first place , its either you want nobody to sniff your traffic or you do , if you dont , use a paid vpn , if you do , use a "free" vpn or non at all

, makes no difference , since A the wifi hotspot could be surveilled aka logs and worse or B the same thing for the "free" vpn , its a loose loose situation there , hope its more clear now

It's good but very slow.

 

Free VPN is fine if your using it in coffee shops, it should be safe enough. Just don't go committing crimes on it, like file downloading etc.

 

Without VPN everyone in distance of the WiFi signal can snoop as well so a free VPN does reduce risk compared to no VPN, besides a VPN being paid gives no guarantee whatsoever that it is not surveilled or backdoored.

I'm using this one to secure public/open wifi use. A yearly subscription is only $40 and there are many servers to choose from.

 

Make your own "VPN" with TeamViewer Or the free version of Hamachi (Log Me In)...and FreeProxy running on a home machine.

I'd have to dig into the documentation, but IIRC, after the intermediary server connects both endpoints, the connection is point to point and encrypted.

Bounce off the FreeProxy (set the "VPN" IP in your browser's proxy settings) on your home machine, and out through your home ISP.

This is for security only, obviously, but that is what you said you only wanted. I make no promises on what info TV or LMI could possibly assertain, but they've both been around for years and I haven't heard of any glaring issues...and this is for security anyway...

I read that on blackhat forums there are regularly exploits for softwares like Teamviewer that can exploit it and basically reverse it so the hacker gets control of the controlling machine, this would of course be unlikely to happen due to the required knowledge and the fact software like this is probably run very rarely over public WiFi in coffeehouses, but it is still something to consider.

 

sorry but if anything id have to go with pauly defrans post in creating your own vpn setup, not sure about how i feel about teamviewer , perhaps theres a more opensource solution , would be way better than opting for a "free" vpn , sorry i just dont trust it ,

with good reason , no not even for a quick access to the web, and yes a reputable paid vpn could be backdoored , but tbh , its most if at all highly unlikely , if you research your vpns beforehand

 

happyyarou666, I think OP is using SecurityKISS to check his email, fb, wilders securely from an open coffee shop WiFi; not using it for p2p and port scanning servers. Assuming he's not doing anything illegal, how on earth can SecurityKISS be worse than doing this stuff on an insecure connection?

There are paid plans for SecurityKISS too offering more bw and faster servers. Admittedly, the free servers kinda... suck.

cause i dont trust em, thats how , again if your aiming for "free" then pauly defrans way is the one and only way to take , unless you dont care that your "free" vpn is logging your every move and doing who knows what with em logs ,

yes that counts for things as checking your real life email and fb?!..lols dont use it , anyhow and wilders , you never know what hit you until its all too

late , and then start thinking ...afterwards , abit paranoid?, perhaps , but its better to have a healthy level of paranoia instead of being at the end of the food chain depending on who finds use from your data to his benefit, and believe me theres alot of use for peoples "innocent" and harmless data , think outside the box

I just did a search for TeamViewer 8 exploits and came up dry. Disable the random password (even the 10 character one) and set a very long custom one. Then set it's use to exclusively LAN connections (which is what the VPN component will be) and it should be fine. I'm sure someone *could* exploit it, but the odds are in your favor I would think. Or use Hamachi, set approval required for all members, approve your other machine, then block all new members.

Ok, good point there. The logging/TOS is the main issue so they really can't be trusted to keep one truly anonymous. Thanks for clearing that up!

Anyone using this on an android device? It says it can be used freely on android but cannot find the VPN settings that i need to input into my device for the SecurityKISS servers.
