Just pushing this up a bit further so it doesn't get lost in the noise, and to also say that I don't see any other logs.

#silverfox99's tests were pretty concluding, what else can I add? #guiman also pointed out the reason behind this behavior!

Try searching in files, to trigger the on-access module to scan the files..

hmm, maybe "it will help" if we try to select several extensions (.exe, .dll, .sys, .doc etc) and display only those [paths]? should be a much more "chance" to show a relevant path..

Sorry, I've decided to look there and I found my On Demand scan records:
    ===============================================
    13:46:07 CContScanPlugin.cpp [AddMultiplePathsAsTask] On Demand task added: FirstFile:C:\Program Files\Folder...
13:57:16 CContScanPlugin.cpp [OnDemandFinished] On Demand task finished e270000-213a-4c42-4e86-26114228e7a9
    13:57:16 CGzLogger.cpp [CGzLogger::LogEvent] Finished ondemand scan: scanned: 13444, skipped: 0, duration: 667219.
    13:57:16 CContScanPlugin.cpp [OnDemandFinished] On Demand task finished:e270000-213a-4c42-4e86-26114228e7a9 (reboot:0)
    13:57:16 CGzLogger.cpp [LogEvent] Finished ondemand scan: scanned: 13444, skipped: 0, duration: 667219.

I COULD NOT FIND ANY RECORDS ABOUT SCANNING THE ZIP FILE FROM THE INTERNET.

    Just trust me without questioning

Was it a virus/eicar? A blocked process and so on?

Only relevant/important info are logged (support purposes)

How do I know if I did not use that very slow, right-click-scan On-Demand?
Furthermore, you told us, it was scanned already automatically.

How is it possible to make such a big scan-on-demand "booboo" with the best Antivirus currently?
Also, I truly believe, that sometime later, BD Free Antivirus would've caught it, but LATER.

I think that Somebody somewhere at the top of BitDefender is really pushing that "NEW CONCEPT" without any feedback from the users.
It could be a risky strategy.

    Hello,

I have tried Bitdefender Free twice now and I loved it each time, light on my system and rock hard detection, the only problem is that it doesnt "play well" with Comodo firewal 6 on my x64 bit system and it caused a problem with Google chrome (my favorite browser)
see my post here on the bitdefender forums:
    http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=41015

And I was unable to use Firefox with it either I was having constant freezing issues with it that would stop when I uninstalled bitdefender Free, similar to this:
    http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=40897

Because of these two issues I had to uninstall Bitdefender free AV as IE is not a acceptible choice as a browser to me and neither are any 3rd party (Comodo dragon. ect.)

Any clue when these issues will be hammered out? I wish to return to BFAV as soon as possible.

    Cheers.

Thank you guiman for the reply, I await the product update, there are a few other things I would like to give me idea on the product some things I would like to see in coming versions, but one step at a time.

and Leuy, this issue was fixed by you doing a repair of BFAV installation? I will have to give this a try later on, I would do it now but its a hassle having to uninstall a AV then install another one with no promise of this fix working.
    But thanks for the information.

For what it's worth, I have been using latest Chrome with BD Free on a new Win 7 x64 system, and no Chrome problems at all. Perhaps it has more to do with some other conflict, as the 2 get along fine for me...

Thank you and you as well, Guiman. I think we understand now that just because there is no scanning message doesn't mean BD is ignoring it.

I have stayed away from BD Free due to the deletion of threats, however after hearing so many positive comments about BitDefender I installed MYFreeAntivirus 2013 last night (I purchased a licence a few months back but have not used the product until now) - which is essentially a rebranded BD AV 2013.

While it certainly appears that threats will be quarantined rather than deleted, I seems that there is no option to prompt for user input when a threat is found. Or am I missing something?

If there is no option to prompted what action to take when a threat is found, then I will uninstall MyFreeAntivirus and look for an alternative, which is a shame as this is an excellent AV. I was using Roboscan, but it seems according to comments at Wilders that the detection rates are not as good as BD despite using BD's scan engine. I do realise that it should possible to restore a qurantined file, and then set it to be ignored so that it won't be detected again, but this is not enough for me - I only wants files quarrantined when I tell my antivirus to quarantine them. Having to take actions later is not acceptable for me.

One more thing, if you want the full version of BitDefender Antivirus Plus, until the end of the month you can still get a one year license for $4.95 at Downloadcrew.

Where are the comments about BD Free not being as good despite using the same technology? As far as I'm aware, it has everything its big brother does except control options/control over quarantine.

If your friends aren't complaining about Panda why do anything unless you have too many friends?;)

The issues happens when you have Comode Firewall together with Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition and Chrome

It probably works, but I wouldn't recommend it as a bullet proof solution
