    Wondering if the login bug is fixed yet in either version. As with ESS installed at times after reboot, you can not get back into windows 8. You get a black login screen and never get the account icon or place to add password to login. I'm having to use Norton until this bug is fixed. Also, looks to happen more when doing any kind of updates to the login dll files. Either MS updates or custom themes.

    Hello GothicDeath

    Just a user experience with a similar issue.
    One of my friends had a similar issue with a black login screen. His antivirus product was another vendor than Eset, but our solution (after two gallons of Cola,and a sugar shock) where to run sfc /scannow from a evaluated command prompt( you know, right click cmd and run it as administrator) it found and repaired a corrupt file. And after a reboot everything were alright. I have dropped a link if you should need it:How To Use SFC /Scannow to Repair Protected Windows Operating System Files

    Regards, Janus

    Hello,

    Please enable pre-release updates as per ESET Knowledgebase Article #2357, "Enabling Pre-Release Updates" and perform an update to allow it to download new modules. Does this solve the problem on the computer?

    Regards,

    I'm running v5 on win8 and have not seen the issue that you speak of. Is this a clean install of Win8 or an upgrade?

    @agoretsky
    I know I had pre-release enabled.

    @Janus
    Thanks for the info. I will see about that the next time it happens.

    @terradon

    Its a clean install of Windows 8 Pro x64 (no media center). I never do upgrades.

    I will make a new image of system uninstall norton and run v5.x and will let you all know if it happens again once ESET is installed.

    On a side note, how do i keep ESET SS, from blocking internal port scanning next (192.0.0.x) so it can connect to network server system? I have it always blocks it and then i can't not connect to the network to get files from other system

    Does the problem persist with Anti-Stealth module 1038?

    Do not forget to copy-paste all versions of all modules you have in your configuration.

    Regards
