What do u think of this program - Simple Port Forwarding

I don't have an idea what is port forwarding, what is it used for, and how to do it...

is this good? what are the benefits / negatives?

 

I just installed it, if you want to have the program automatically add programs such as uTorrent for you you must purchase it for 12 USD which I did and it magically entered to my router settings page, added the ports and named them properly (uTorrent, iTunes, etc.)

now let's see how this benefits me ....

Here, I forward ports "manually" (sometimes with the help of several guides available at PortForward.com), and when I'm done I check with Simple Port Tester (which is the most reliable and accurate port tester I've ever found and it's small, free and portable too).

What can I say about Simple Port Forwarding? Well, I never really tested it. What I know is: it's made by the same devs of Simple Port Tester (who also make CleanMem) - PcWinTech. It simplifies the whole process but costs money, just like PFConfig.

 

Well it's only 12 USD so it's alright but what I want to know, what are the benefits of port forwarding?

 

any data transaction on that port would bypass the Firewall's ever watching eye
and hence the data transaction will be faster,
but on the downside that port is exposed

 

Isn't it the same as using DMZ?

From my router settings:

I had to use it because my Android notifications (Whatsapp, Faacebook, etc) were being delayed and even blocked by my router. I tried to open every port those apps use but I got no result. Only thing that really worked was DMZ.

Have you ever tried qBittorrent? I never had any problem with uTorrent but I decided to try qBittorrent anyway. Don't ask me why, but it's WAY faster, at least for me, mainly when it comes to magnet links.

Generally speaking, the benefits are improved internet speed with affected programs.

 

I have bro and I like its interface actually. But in my experience, it was much slower than uTorrent and sometimes the torrents won't even start downloading whereas in uTorrent the downloads start almost instantly with that same torrent
