On Demand scans only. Normally at work on an infected machine. Which, I might add, is very rare thanks to WSA!
I use the on-demand freeware version. I first used it around four years ago when it was still fairly new & had one or two teething problems. It has come a long way since. I normally give anything I download a scan with MBAM, I've even been told on this forum that this behaviour is paranoid, but I'd rather be paranoid & safe thanks to MBAM than infected! After all, isn't that what an on-demand scanner is for? MBAM is probably the best on-demand scanner on the Net these days.
On one of my computers I just run MBAM real time with the url scanner, no other active scanner, and surf with Chrome (js disabled/ white list). I couple that with WOT and have had pretty good results. I do an on demand scan with HMP at boot.
I run Filesystem protection and website blocking on 3 computers. I also recommend it strongly to people I talk security with. MBAM has become second only to Sandboxie for me as far as not wanting to get on the internet without it.
I own the pro version, but I don't run it as real-time protection...I use it as an on-demand scanner only. EDIT: Went back to using it Real-Time lol
Real-time stand-alone. I just recently upgraded to Pro and love it ! I use both the real-time filesystem and website protection inside of sandboxie. I also use MBAR on-demand.
Even though we have a PRO license use it for on demand only. Nice to see the program continually being developed.
I would use it as an on-demand scanner if there were a portable version that didn't require installation.
