I forgot to mention that I use DropMyRights. This tool enables you to restrict the programs rights. More information about DropMyRights can be found in this article.

I plan to run with the current configuration for as long as compatibility and functionality permit.

I continually run through several of the major security programs and have been impressed lately with KIS and BIS as they seem to run lighter than previously experienced (browsing speeds). Is it just my imagination?

Yes it does make it more difficult, but not impossible and some of the infections out there can render your box or your data useless very quickly so having a good antivirus and antimalware product running at all times is quite prudent unless you're looking to lose your data. The main point of all this security software is to make it easy for the average user to protect their system, most of it was not written for experts in the field.

    Right now I'm using:

    Windows:
    - Windows 7 Ultimate x64 (maybe will change for the future with Windows 8 )
    - Configurated Admin account and using everyday Standard User
    - UAC to Default - Always ask me
    - Built in Admin and Guest disabled
    -Autoruns/Autoplay disabled

    Real-time:
    - Symantec Endpoint Security with all features turned ON - AV, Firewall, SONAR etc.
    - On-Demand scanned MBAM

    Browser:
    - Google Chrome + Traffic Light + Adblock Plus + DoNotTrackMe
-Google Chrome disabled third-party cookies and added exceptions for most common used web sites
    - Norton DNS

    Additional:
    - Volume encrypted with TrueCrypt with my important stuff like password, bank account etc stored

    What is your opinion?
I am considering installing EMET. Do you think it is significant to us it?

You can also send PM to me.

    Many thanks.

Router- It's got NAT, & some SPI thingy
    Windows FW- No exceptions
    Comodo FW/D+ v5.10 - Custom Policy, Paranoid/Untrusted
    Sandboxie- Lifetime
    Shadow Defender v1.1.0.325
Macrium Reflect Standard v4.2 - Boot time imaging
VT Hash Check v1.01 - set to autoscan via "Download Statusbar" method
    TrueCrypt v7.1 - OS partition + sensitive's in container
    OpenVPN v2.3 - Mullvad

Comodo Secure DNS / VPN DNS
Firefox/Ixquick SSL: NoScript, ABP (EasyList, EasyPrivacy, Malware Domains, Antisocial), CS Lite Mod, HTTPS-Everywhere, WOT, RequestPolicy

    Other (on demand) scanners:
    Hitman Pro
    MalwareBytes
    CCE
    Kaspersky TDSS Killer

Running a very bareboned, well hardened admin acct. with just the right balance of security & convenience for my needs. Hardening is really the backbone of my setup, and I could fill pages going into every tweak. My goal is to make it so theoretically I'd be just fine without all the software... and it's just there because I'm paranoid.

    * Looking forward to trying - ExploitShield, when there's a stable release
