Is Admuncher lifetime license worth the price you paid?Is it better than Adblock Plus?

Admuncher doesn't need any extension in your browser, it blocks ads directly from your HTTP stream
so your ads are blocked regardless of your preferred browser.

as for effectiveness, all the ad blocking softwares or extensions are more or less the same and use Fanboy's list so performance should be same

actually on that date and a few days afterwareds there was no option of lifetime licenses on the website on firewall... on OSS they did not offer lifetime licenses for a long time.

oh they sure do I have been a long time OFP user and not just switched to OSS and loving it!

FWIW: companies that offer lifetime licenses IMHO are just trying to maximize profits. If everyone that bought a product bought the lifetime license, the company would not survive as there would be no cash flow.

Lifetime is a nebulous term, your lifetime or your computers lifetimeo_O

PS: I bought list.com from vern Buerg over 20 years ago and it still works. <GG>

    it was THE SOFTWARE.

I lost my list.com in my 386 computer.

Vern passed away in december 2009, http://dwwatkins.com/in-memory-of-vern-buerg.htm, i wish to keep the list.com program but not found the way to get it.

now people find that these couple of apps are the list.com replacements:

    http://www.fileviewer.com/
    http://www.bizer.com/zblist/

maybe not a very popular software.

sorry the offtopic of the offtopic, i really was impressed with list.com too.

you can say now, the lifetime of your license is longer than the author... its a great memory for him.

list.com does not work with 64 bits. :(

I just tried Admuncher, love the idea. But how to I remove the dumb toolbar that pops up on every page? I might buy it if I can find a way to disable that. LOL! Only other issue is the cost is outrageous for this product. Several hundred dollars to cover 4 PCs even with a 50% discount code? He needs to have a family-license type of system with a realistic price point.

Can I install a single license on more than one PC without the program wigging out? That'd be the only way he would get a dime from me.

to disable the toolbar you have to go to Options > Interface > Disable Toolbar on Filtered Pages.

The license can only be used on one PC at a time.

I bought my licenses at prices more than what have been offered now.

People think that I might be crazy to spend so much on a mere adblocker which is done freely by many programs.

I have used many replacements in the past but Ad Mucher is the best without a doubt.

I can use any browser that I want and i do not install any add-ons , which has actually decreased memory usage of my browsers drastically.

I have a grandfather in lifetime license for Ad-Muncher
that I brought years ago when you could buy it for cheap
but have went to using Adblock Edge because in the last year or so
Ad-Muncher has went to stalling page loads and they have not
    addressed it

It is by far the best if it wasn't for this problem, I check it from
time to time to see if it has been resolved, if and when it ever is
I shall return to using it again, glad I have this lifetime license

Well I got my Spyshelter license refreshed.. Apparently they change licensing schemes every so often, disabling lifetime licenses.. Once refreshed I promptly sold off and transferred that license as I never want to hassle with that crap again. I waited 3 months to get my key refreshed.

Still trying to get my lifetime keys with SuperAntiSpyware resolved. Not so I can use it, so I can sell that piece of junk on Ebay. But it is funny, their FAQ has a topic that says "If your lifetime license doesn't work anymore, open a ticket!" then they don't provide a link to opening a ticket so you have to register on their forums, and submit a request. Apparently this is happening a lot as there are quite a few threads on the forum about it. Terrible business.

I would just run a credit card charge back on all of these guys, but I try to exhaust all of my options first.. I just purchased a lifetime license to Admuncher, lets hope it never magically 'turns off', but the developers seem to be very easily accessible, which is a huge bonus. After the nightmare with Hitmanpro, I am but cautious about where I spend.

SuperAntiSpyware people aren't helping much, big surprise right?

I sent a support email in, and got the reply "Sorry we can't help as your key isn't valid anymore.".. Well DUUUUHHHH! The reason I am asking for help is my lifetime key isn't valid anymore!!!! Awesome support. I provided them with my invoice, CD key, and License code, and apparently that doesn't work, since my code 'isn't valid anymore'.. Not even sure how to answer them.

    Fail Product, Fail Support.

Wow, seems like bad luck. Good thing I stayed away from SAS lifetime license. I was going to buy it at some point.

Even if you pay, for instance, $60 - $80 for a lifetime license of a product that gives you 4-5 years of support before the vendor shutters its doors, it translates to a small drop in the bucket in the grand scheme of things. I'm sure most people dispose of far more than that in food during the same time without even giving it a second thought.

One of the things I am personally truly grateful for here in my country is that I can get something to fill my stomach for cheap :D

So no, even 30$ is a lot to me, there are some people earning that much a month where I live....:)

There is always freeware. I really don't understand this problem.
    IF you are:
    A) Poor - get freeware
    B) can afford $30 - get lifetime license
    C) can afford $30 per year - get rentware

I have to agree. Even though my wife and I are professionals, with great incomes, we live very frugal lives. It's not a matter of what we can afford, it's a matter of principle of what we waste. One cannot say $30 isn't a lot if they don't know the circumstances, or choices, of another. We choose to live frugal lives, regardless of income, and as a matter of choice, $30 is actually pretty significant in relation to what we spend day to day. I make more than that an hour, but $30 is more than I spend for personal expenses in a two week period of time, so that makes $30 quite a lot for me. I don't buy $6.00 Latte's everyday.. $30 buys nearly a 3-4 week supply of produce for my juicer.

Also, I think it is rather silly the way people write off things, like money doesn't matter. You are not Donald Trump, a 20 spot matters so don't kid yourself or you will find your bank account pretty sparse. (if not already)

On the bright side, I have recently sold 'many' of my licenses. Stickypassword for example I sold off for a good portion of what I paid for it. I hate the software, and they charge for every update. But someone else didn't mind, and paid it. So I am in the process of liquidating all of my licenses to products I no longer use - if only SAS would own up - so I can sell that trash too. I sold off my MBAM license, never saw much use for it, and it slowed my (fast) systems down quite a lot. Glad to recover most of my cost on that.
