as RejZoR said there is a Quarantine section in the GUI if BB detects something. But the problem is when you scan C driver and it detect some FP, no quarantine section showed and byebye files, BD clear you files :thumbd:
Exactly how are working BD Avs, they need to change this beahaviour because in case of FP you miss your file.
In my case hashmyfiles.exe is detected as malware (100% FP) and I can't exclude it from scanning

I dowload hashmyfiles again to see how BD Cloud works and it can't detect the file zipped but when you unzip it there is no more exe file on the folder

Is there no configuration option to move any detected file to quarantine without straight deletion?

I have not found a way to manage quarantine, so I think is impossible change BD behavior. This bad thing is the same for other BD products

Hope that bitdefender continuously develop this free version like avast and AVG. Bitdefender previous freeware was only an on-demand scanner which was developed in 2008.

this is why i cant recc bd to clients because if left in auto pilot mode it will just go and delete things without any knowledge to the person. i wish they would give a option then i would highly recc it to people who need a set and forget type thing

The Idle scanner or whatever it is is idiotic. It decided to scan my system and then the whole system went into hybrid sleep. When i woke it up, no BD trey icon. When i opened it manually, it was grinding and there was no way of stop it doing that.

While this is promising it's so plagued with tiny bugs its freakin incredible.

Same here. Was just discussing this very product last night with someone. Was going to make a thread today, but someone beat me to it. :D

Have it installed on my kids laptop. Windows 7 x64 no issues so far to report. Only glitch that I noticed is that it took forever to update.

Will keep you posted and be watching this thread.

    Thanks.

Windows 7 x64, used the web installer and it defaulted to english and installed perfectly. Can confirm real time protection. You will need to create a BD account to use the program longer than 30 days. It's been installed for 30 minutes and it's still updating.

I'm trying this via Toolwiz Timefreeze in case I was to dump it quick and easy.

I noticed in the "My Bitdefender" section it says 29 days left. Does that mean I have 29 days to create an account and sign in, or the software only works for 29 days before they ask for money?

NM - just saw Dbones post.

I waited over an hour for the update to finish but it never did. So I rebooted, and upon boot, I received a message that BD was updating for the first time, and within 5 minutes, I got another message that BD was updated. So it looks like that a reboot is needed after install, at least on my machine.................So far, so good. :thumb:

Not at all. RAM fluctuates from 5-25MB, and disk I/O is extremely low.

I'm using BD antivirus plus 2013 right now. Going to uninstall it and try out the free and see how I like it. If I like it maybe when it expires (the plus edition) i'll go with the free version.

I think that it's important to remember that this kind of thing is made for people like us to put on the machines of friends and family that don't know much about software and security, as it says on the product page. For those people, they're likely to just click to delete anything that it finds anyway (or the opposite, which isn't what we'd want).

For what it is, I think it's great. I put it on my niece's machine, and it seemed to be just the right solution and ran quite well. Yes, the first update took forever, but it didn't interfere with anything. Their family computer had been horribly infected from the girls clicking 'yes' to fake AV alerts, so giving them virtually silent protection is probably the way to go. Now I hope that my brother actually shows them the demo with Eicar that I set up for him :X
