Vipre's false "Lifetime" claims...

    I did not.... Simply because GFI will not change their policy and the way that they treated me on the phone.
    Perception is reality... A central principle in GFI's marketing is that it's far more important what the customer thinks he's getting rather than what's actually being delivered. Another major strategy is to hide the fact that GFI can never deliver what they promise, a true "Lifetime License" so that the customer will keep purchasing another license just after one re-install.
    Perhaps, they should look at other developers such as Agnitum.... who truly offers a "Lifetime" license.

    At this point.... it was time and money that was wasted and a good lesson learned.

    Everyone has had a chance to air their positions, including the vendor. As always:
    • If you disagree with vendor licensing programs, usage policies, upgrade policies, and so on, vote with your wallet
    • Take the time to understand licensing details in detail, particularly in circumstances such as these or ones in which a defined number of reactivations are allowed under licensing terms (regardless of license duration).
