Which VPN would you suggest .!!!

Helo folks,
i just want to install a VPN tool to add in my layer of security: although their were a few Giveaways like OkayFreedom VPn, and the free version allowed 500 MB of traffic, and their is Hotspot Shield free ( i don't know how much traffic it allows in freeversion): besided these two, which VPN tool would you suggest , that you yourself have tried and something you could recommend here.
Do you think HotspotShield is better than OkayFreedom and any other tool in your mind.

In alphabetical order, I suggest AirVPN, BolehVPN and Mullvad.

This thread should probably be in Wilders' "privacy technology" section. Or at least, there's much more about VPNs there, and in the other privacy sections.

 

I use since a few months vpn4all , which is supposed to be off-shore and (they said) they do not keep logs.
Apart of this, the service is ok.

iVPN is good if you're willing to pay. The speeds are fast and they claim to be very privacy friendly.

The only complaint I have is they only used Paypal for transactions when I signed up a few months ago. So while they say that they only require an email address from their customers (no address, etc), having to pay with Paypal breaks the anonymity.

I just took a look and they now appear to have added Bitpay as a merchant. So perhaps new users can maintain anonymity throughout the whole sign up process.

Otherwise, a very good service with reliable and fast connections.

I second ivpn.net, very fast and very reliable (fast customer service response as well)! Also a member of EFF.

Security kiss is a very good / reliable free VPN (300mb daily cap).

 

They may accept LR, if you ask.

 

Some mentioned VPN must be good and too bad IVPN doesn't have free version, for a user to try them. Their website had all business oriented look and feel. All the known and quite popular one do have a free version, and i am not a guy who browse through net for 10 hr or 12 hrs. Free version really does suffice me.

I think I should have made this thread earlier. I was about to ask what good free VPNs I could use. As for SecurityKISS Tunnel (VPN), using the paid (Rather than free service) is also a very good deal. I would start with the lowest price for one month (2.99 Euros) to test out how good it is.

 

Agreed ... simple installation and it didn't require any effort setting it up. Can't tell you the left over's some of these other VPNs left on my system. Namely Hotspot shield. The last time I had a file this persistent was googleupdate.

 

You get what you pay for. I don't trust FREE services, way to fishy.

I would add VPN4ALL to the list of recommended VPN providers, but they pushed a 50MB client upgrade last time I used it. Also very fishy, 50MB is just enough to evade online scanners and it's just too big. Not saying they are not legit but that update turned me off.

Sure we can all recommend good providers that are proven to be good, BUT if you have no experience in the matter of VPNs, MITM, HoneyPots, other issues related to VPNs, and security as it relates to VPNs, then you're doing yourself a GREAT DISSERVICE by simply taking recommendations, running off on your merry way and just using a service...

Grab what others seem to agree on, but you better spend time around here reading and learning!

By the way I recommend BolehVPN, I know for a fact they are good, but again, that doesn't mean spit to someone who has no clue!

As i said above, I use Vpn4all since August. No issues at all. You are right about the heavy client, however updates are not mandatory. I also skip the last one.

 

Just done your proxy test when connected with VPN4ALL. The test shows up my IP but actually my VPN IP which is not my ISP IP.
Thus, I am not anonymous but my true IP is hidden anyway.

 

I'd never use a free service... Well, not for anything sensitive. On rare occasions it can be beneficial...say with a livecd and as a second step if you want to distance yourself

RiseUp is different case, also that link to that VPN has a invalid cert.

 

autistici.org in an italian collective like riseup or german private mail.

 

RiseUp! is well respected, and has gone to court (and won) for their users...but you need an invite.

I studied VPNs extensively a few months ago. I knew I didn't need much data and I preferred a reputable company. I ended up choosing Boxpn, SecurityKiss, and OpenVPN/PrivateTunnel. You can't go wrong with any of these.
