Version 1.70 of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware brings with it a host of great new features and enhancements.

Whats New
New Features:
• New program logo and icons
• Heuristics for 0-day exploit detection now implemented in protection module for PRO version
• Threats detected by the protection module are now quarantined automatically by default
• Malwarebytes Anti-Malware now shows Windows 8 START screen notifications
• More Tools tab enhanced with tons of new content and more to come in the future
• Option to allow a threat to run temporarily (Allow Temporarily) added to filesystem protection prompts
• Option to add a detected item to the Ignore List (Allow Always) added to filesystem protection prompts

Improvements:
• Heuristics for detecting new and unknown threats improved
• Scanner efficiency improved
• Microsoft Windows 8 and Internet Explorer 10 now identified correctly in scan logs
• Help file updated to include information on new features
• Better compatibility with many other security products in realtime
Issues Fixed:
• Minor issue with password creation from CLI fixed

Does it mean that now they scan scripts too?

 

Can a MBAM rep tell us more about this?

Is this an evolution of an existing capability, or is this a whole new thing?

But this is why I'm a big fan of MBAM. Continuous product development and improvement.

MBAM is a winner.

 

They finally updated the GUI! Well it's mostly the same except the banner and logo but still!

 

Under the hood there is new technology that looks at the way files enter a system and can recognize exploit born infections easier.

 

No problems with the beta. As for the colour change, I call it the "Blue Bayou" version after the song http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Bayou

 

Nice. 1.70 running fine here on XP.

MBAR is still a stand-alone tool (and still beta)
Chameleon was already part of MBAM

 

Wow the new color scheme looks a lot better and "cool".

 

Problem here. It will not load at start up. I am unable to manually turn on Protection. I have a license. No luck with reboot, different download site or safe mode

-I know that MBAR is still a stand-alone tool in Beta.
But they added to the MBAM Tool section.

-As far as for Chameleon, was is in the MBAM 1.65 Tool section?
No, it wasn't (as the Screen-Shot shows).

What you see in the More Tools tab are these links:

In MBAM 1.65 and earlier Fileassassin could run from within MBAM
Chameleon already exists as part of MBAM for sometime and could run from command line or via explorer
Startuplite exists for some time as well as a standalone tool
MBAR is a also a standalone (still beta)tool since feb. 2012

You can't run those four tools from within MBAM (at the moment)

By the way there is also another tool not mentioned: mbamclean

 

Downloaded and working well. Malwarebytes Pro + Sandboxie Pro = Great Combo

 

Great looking interface.way to go MBAM.
