This PC just auto-Updated but I didn't notice the icon change, 0 out of 10 for observation, though I'm not a morning person - (not that good the rest of the time either) :argh:

Sorry to be be a killjoy but after the talk about the little gold lock on the icon being difficult to see Webroot have now changed it to green and made even harder to see o_O
Also, I notice that this stupid green lock is on all the time the browser is open and never changes now matter what settings you have set. No matter wether I have max https or low http settings for a particular site it stays the same.
Perhaps there is an explanation for this but I am not impressed at the moment.

I'm afraid you seem to be missing the point.
It needs to be more visible, more obvious. I want it on as well but needs to be colour coded according to level of protection applied to the site you are on. It's already too small and difficult to see, there is no need to camouflage it for goodness sake.
I'm not the only one who has complained about the lack of visibility, not everyone has super sharp vision, some people here are of mature years who's eyesite is not what it used to be.
What has been asked for is something more obvious - in the browser itself like there used to be.

I am very patiently waiting for the fix for the right click "Scan with Webroot" and "Permanently erase With Webroot" "bug" where it stops working to be fixed in one of these newer builds so far no luck with 8.0.2.66 maybe 8.0.2.79 will have the fix ;)

Or maybe Webroot is still working on it since I have not heard back yet from there tech support.

I'm surprised I was updated. I'm usually one of the last.

I'm getting typing weirdness with this version on Windows 8 64-bit. Sometimes the first letter typed doesn't register. Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm going to disable identity protection for a bit to see if it's the culprit.

Edit: Yeah, it's identity protection causing it.

The anti-keylogger (identity shield) seems also somehow broken. It only protects the first key typed-in then the rest is open air.
Tested with SpyShelter antitest (on win8 32bit)

    Anyone else getting the same?

EDIT: and yes I have also the issue of the first key pressed sometime

The lock icon was changed to green to prevent confusion for users who think it means HTTPS. We've changed how the Identity Shield works so now it will always protect all websites, with additional customization available through the Protected Websites feature still just for specific cases.

We're investigating the keyboard protection on Windows 8 but it so far looks to be OS-specific and Win7/Vista/XP are still fully protected, and the rest of the Identity Shield protection is still in place (which is the far more important aspects of it).

We'll be publishing a full changelog shortly but let me know if you have any questions in the meantime!

Before .79 it would only show on HTTPS sites by default and Joe is now saying it shows on all websites so maybe do a clean reinstall? Uninstall reboot and install the new build with the link you have.

As I had HTTPS & HTTP set to Max I have set to default and the lock shows on all websites now. ;) But I will set HTTP back to Max from default Low never had an issue before.
