    Hello, Everyone

Well I am not sure how to start but I am an intern and new to the working on servers. I have been tasked with deploying ESET Remote Server Admin to a company. The problem is it is completely done remotely. I have no clue how to get to monitor these computers from where I am at. I know how to deploy the agent using the GPO but past that I am lost. So I did a search and brought me here to the forum. I am hoping that anyone can point me in the right direction maybe get some Knowledge based material to read. I think I may have an idea because I had to do a WSUS lab in which I needed to add the Windows Internal Database. So me and a colleague of mine are thinking maybe be we have to set up a SQL Database. To get an idea of the scenario. I work for Site A which is an IT company Site B is Shipping company. I have to get all the computers in Site B to point to the ESET Remote Administrator in Site A. Sorry about the grammar and spelling but I am worn out trying to solve this.

With all due respect, it sounds like you are in over your head.

While each and every one of us wants to work hard and further our knowledge and skill sets, we also have to sometimes take a step back and admit that the task or project given is too much.

As I am sure that you know, when working on servers, mistakes can be extremely costly, even if they were innocent or unintended.

I would suggest you go to your manager/supervisor and discuss this with him/her and state that I want to learn and be able to do this, but right now I first need guidance and/or a mentor to show me the safe and effective way to do this.

Doing that will have a side benefit as well: Your employer should see this as a positive attribute that you have and will add to your worth.

    Hello fredlewis,

    this guide may be helpful:
    http://go.eset.com/us/resources/manuals/ERA_Basic_Setup_Guide.pdf

Basically you could create preconfigred pre-configured(with connection to ERA server) and than distribute this package to endpoints utilizing ERA push installation or GPO.

There is no need to install SQL server, ERA has it's built-in database SQL is used when ERA server is heavily loaded.
