    Licensed users receive an email with the details of where to download a new version.

    Check post 987, the new version has not yet been sent out. You may have to wait a day or so.

    ok,just noticed something,as soon as I install the software and accept the license terms,there is a language bar that comes up in the system tray.. is there anyway to get rid of it ?

    Ok never mind,i have just hidden the language bar and tray is back to normal,everything is fine!

    @lucijamtrv91

    I sent you a PM with the v2.7.1. Even if this is the stable version, as I wrote in the post https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=2153465&postcount=987 I preferred to test it a bit more with few customers before make it official and make it available to all current and new customers.

    @TomAZ

    Yes, now when you switch to Lockdown Mode it recognises the options "Automatically Allow Windows Protected Processes", "Automatically Allow all software from Program Files folder" and "Always alert when regsvr32.exe tries to load a DLL/EXE".

    @siketa

    Issue 1) => I could reproduce this and it will be fixed in the next version.

    Issue 2) => The ono-column-click-ordering is done on the fly, it means when you click on the column "Date/Time" the items are ordered based on the date, but new items are added at the end of the list. If you click again the column "Date/Time" the items are re-ordered taking care of the new items. We may switch to real-time ordering in the next versions.

    Issue 3) => That depends from the processes running, also Taskmgr.exe shows few processes with small capital letters, example: http://postimage.org/image/wyzsixbev/

    @arsenaloyal

    Have you also tried to restart the PC with Windows 8 ?
    Does ERP works fine at the restart ?

    @everyone

    Thanks for the feedbacks ;)

    Yes, the default settings are fine, I would recommend to enable these other options:

    Go in Settings > Advanced and enable:

    [V] Automatically disallow processes executed from USB"
    [V] Purge old hashes when a process is whitelisted/blacklisted

    You could also enable Lockdown Mode from Settings > Policies and all the new and unknown processes will be automatically blocked, only the processes in the whitelist will be able to run in the system. Please note that this policy recognises also the options "Automatically Allow Windows Protected Processes", "Automatically Allow all software from Program Files folder" and "Always alert when regsvr32.exe tries to load a DLL/EXE".

    Not really sure what this is or what it does:

    +Always alert when regsvr32.exe tries to load a DLL/EXE

    So why is this alert particularly important?

    Does "regsvr32.exe" ever have a legitimate use or could it just be permanently blocked?

    What NVT can do that an HIPS can't?
    As far as I can see is just an anti executable.
    It's better or worse than a HIPS?

    How do you use it to protect your computer?

    You use it like regular HIPS. It will give you a message whenever executable is trying to load.

    advantages over other HIPS:
    - allows lockdown
    - it is standalone

    disadventages:
    - not sure if it will protect against key-loggers. maybe someone can clarify this?
