Hi I would like to give some suggestions for ESET Smart Security 6

    1)A built-in task manager
In the current option of tools->running processes..it will be helpful if you would include options to "end process" with adminstrator privileges...this will make users to force kill process of some rogue applications and malware...

2)include options in potential unwanted program detection:
When a PUP warning is detected include options like "exclude from scan"....this I feel is a must because if a user needs that application he can exclude it from scan!at present only "show alert window" is shown in advanced options in eset 6.

    3)Live grid:
Display some approximate numbers of how many users are using the current application instead of just small, medium as displayed now!

    4)self defense:
Don't include disable self defense as an option because this will enable some crackers to hack ESET and make it use free

    5)alert windows:
the alert windows for PUP and HIPS is given in same colour..pls change it...at times it gives confusion!

There are threads for EAV and ESS intended for giving suggestions so it's better to post there then to separate threads that may get lost among others as new ones are added.

Giving an option to kill processes to all users would be dangerous as it might result in BSOD or other severe problems. Technically savvy users who are aware of potential risks connected with killing processes also know ways how to do that.

This option is not displayed in v6 under certain circumstances. The final version 6 should allow to exclude potentially unwanted applications from detection directly from within the notification window as it was in previous versions.

We will consider mentioning the approximate number of users for different levels in the help file.

Disabling self-defense must be possible but only with user's consent. It's not possible to disable it programmatically.

    Suggestion noted.

We do not usually reply in the threads with suggestions. They serve for collecting feedback when deciding about new product features. It's something that mods cannot decide.

    Hello,

Feedback left in the Future Changes to ESET Smart Security and ESET NOD32 Antivirus message threads are reviewed by ESET employees. Employees may or may not respond there.

Please send me a PM with the ticket numbers and ESET distributor or office you opened the tickets with.

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky
