I think it's still open because people are playing nicely. ;)

That maybe because the original query was
"Which antivirus plays nice with Sandboxie"
    not
    "which av is best",
even though people may have misinterpreted the question and started answering the second possible meaning .;)

As a Sandboxie user, I know that there are antiviruses that play well with Sandboxie and there are some that don't. The ones that don't, usually lock files when deleting the sandbox, making deletion of the sandbox take a few extra seconds. I seen some that make SBIE take 15 or 20 seconds to delete or to open, that is nasty and I don't like it.

I don't use an antivirus but I play with them sometimes. None that I have tried and that I would not recommend to be used along Sandboxie has been mentioned in this thread.

I have no idea if it's the best choice, but on my system Panda Cloud AV (Free) runs very well with SBIE & SD. ;)

I've tried most out there with SBIE. Recently, like Bo, to keep up with what is happening in the AV arena rather than a serious attempt to find a companion for SBIE.

I make no comment on any of them other than I've never considered they added anything and as a result none of them stuck for very long. Not because they weren't good (although some were very poor) but because with my SBIE config I don't need something running real time that does not add to protection.

If I was obliged to use one it would likely be NOD32. Not because I think it is the best but because I could not tell the difference in Sandboxed apps with or without it and functionality in both products was maintained.

Find one you like that does not interfere with SBIE functions and relax in the knowledge that with a little care in your config SBIE will make up for your chosen product's deficiencies :D

    Cheers

The original query was "what antivirus i should choose (free or buy) to accompany Sandboxie the best?"

Whilst the context is limited to Sandboxie compatibility, the query is still a "Which antivirus is best" within that context. This type of query is ultimately pointless because it simply leads to people recommending their favourite AV without much analysis or thought. As I said previously, Sandboxie doesn't need to be an issue when choosing an AV providing that any compatibility settings that Sandboxie advises are enabled.

I currently am running WSA AV and it is playing nice with sandboxie or vice versa.

With SBIE there's no vice versa, anything you'll add to it will always be secondary.

I don't have any companion for Sandbxie right now, but if I have to, then I'd go with MSE.
