Please mention the version of SD you use and also tell the reason for the same.I am using 1.1.0.325 32 bit in Windows 7 Ultimate because it is stable than all the other versions of SD on my system.
Just testing it, but obviously 1.1.0.325 version. There is no other worth using it than this one in my opinion.
I use version 1.1.0.320 for "historical" reasons: When I still had Windows XP Home, version 1.1.0.325 often caused a freezing of my computer (unknown why). So I returned to 1.1.0.320 which always worked without problems. And up to now I stayed with this version even after changing to Windows 7 and to new hardware.
SD 1.2.0.346 because all prior versions BSOD my new notebook (with an mSSD)! I have been running this new version without any issues for the past 3 days, whereas all prior versions would crash my system inside of 3 minutes! Cruise
i voted none but i used .325 in the past and thought it was one of the best security-related product i've seen. not needed anymore i think with SSDs and being to restore an image in less than a minute.
I had been using 1.1.0.325, but after trying the latest version I find it runs smoothly and after enabling RAM-cache my system runs noticeably faster! Unlike some here I don't subscribe to the 'hacker conspiracy'. Wendi
I use .325 because it's time tested. I haven't tried any of the other versions so I have no point of reference. But I do know that this one works fine for me. And I notice no difference in my overall system footprint whatsoever after installing it. So I can't imagine how 1.2 could be any quicker. I would consider moving to 1.2 "if" unequivocal proof was provided that Tony was indeed back running the show. When a forum is overrun by spammers and there's no word from the dev for years... you should expect the worst IMO. And through the years, tantamount to all the security software I've used, my discretion as an end user has been my best preventative measure by far. And I'm not going to throw that caution into the wind now.
well, i am thinking if buying shadow defender as i use windows 8 and the author has returned , but questions regarding the legitimacy of the latest version remain and should i consider the fact that the software is from china ? I love what the software is capable of,but as you can see a bit confused as well!
Shadow Defender is fantastic and has never failed me. I do use v1.1.0.325 as this is a version released by "Tony" before his disappearance, as to the "new" version or who is in control of Shadow Defender now is up to speculation and is anyone's guess. Personally I don't much consider from what country a software is from as to whom is in control of it. FWIW there appears to be a sale going on at the moment 22.75 USD compared to the normal price of 35.00 USD.
I've had version 1.2.0.346 for about 4 hours and it feels great (325 was great too). So far so good, and if something untoward might come up, a quick image restore and I'm back to 325.
Still using 1.1.0.325, never had a problem with it. Until issues concerning Tony are crystal clear only then I might update but for now happy with what im using.
Even i am not concerned about the country of origin to be honest, I saw the sale as well, but i am using an SSD and i hear that older versions no longer work with an SSD.... so see i am even more confused now!
I Prefer to SD Version 1.1.0.325. It stable and reliable in my windows 7 64 bit. I tested all versions including latest version. I installed and uninstalled so may applications and deleted system critical folders. Only SD Version 1.1.0.325 restored to previous state [ restored all files ] successfully without blue screen of death on reboot. Some times new vesrion of SD cannot restore google chrome.I Added tool bars, plug ins in all browsers. Only SD Version 1.1.0.325 restored all browsers successfully. But the latest vesrion SD 1.2.0.355 is faster performance compared with SD Version 1.1.0.325. In my opinion SD Version 1.1.0.325 best because of its stable performance.
I installed .346 a little more than a month ago. Works great in my XP/W7. I installed that version because it was the latest version available at the time that I decided to use SD. Bo
