How fine grained is the Device Control within EndPoint v5, can I block USB storage and then allow access based on specific DeviceID?

    Thanks, Andrew.

You can use parameters for rules such as vendor, model or serial number and also select users for whom a rule will be applied.

I realised this not long after posting the message, works perfectly for what I need.

Is it possible to display a custom message when a device is connected that isn't permitted?

How do I find the serial number of a USB stick to white/black list it?

I found the easiest way to do this was to create a rule that allows Read/Write for everyone and set the Severity level to "Information". Then plug the USB device in and look under Tools>Log Files and set it to show the Device Control logs, you should then see the Vendor/Serial Number.

    Hope that helps.

    Hello,

Just to note, not all USB devices have serial numbers, so if you are planning rules around the serial number, please be sure the device has one first.

    Thanks,
