No I do not. I think the Ipad is pretty cool but I rather shell out the extra cash and get a Airbook.
I have a Windows 7 tablet from Acer I installed Fedora on but never use. I am going to sell it and get a Nexus 7 I think it will be nice to have because of its size but I will probably disable all Google apps/framework and harden it like my phone.
Just bought iPad 4 and love it. Takes some getting used to but is great once one gets the hang of it. Also bought iPhone recently which is also great. None is a real replacement for a decent laptop however so I always have a lappy handy.
Yes. Toshiba Thrives, rooted. Great for reading Kindle books anyplace, play kids' games, stream TV through HDMI out which my laptop doesn't have. Not doing anything that needs security, but between Avast mobile application firewall, and AdAway hosts file it might even be somewhat safe. Even though possible, I'm not doing any serious (office) applications. Not doing cloud storage. No smartphones in the house.
I've got a Momo8 Bird and also a Droid X360 for gaming. Both of which I rarely use as I prefer to use a laptop, and also My Momo8 had terrible screen quality. However I plan to get a tablet with a better screen next year.
Got an iPad 2 months ago, and use it constantly for reading when I'm out of the house. It's much better for me than a Sony e-reader I had. But I'm sick of being locked down. Probably going to jailbreak it.
I don't have one and I am not sure what I would use it for. I have an Android smart phone and a laptop...covers everything for me.
Google Nexus 7 - you can take it to the coffee shop and it doesn't take up half the table and block off the person you are there with. You can also take it to the loo, watch it in bed w/o pushing the wife off the bed, has apps that you can watch all manner of TV shows (Sky News, BBC News Channel) many of which aren't available in the US, battery last 12-14 hours, apps make it easy to find stuff you'd never think of, otherwise. No data plan restrictions. Wished they'd been available 10 years ago.
I wouldn't mind getting one if it had 3G and if the shared plans were cheaper. But yeah I share your perspective. iPads are way too big to carry them around comfortably. I keep mine 99% of the time at home. The only thing that iPad is good for is airplane rides. Nexus 7 seems so much more portable. I wish they made them a bit thinner so they would fit comfortably into shirt pocket.
Google just added a 3G type feature called HSPA+, here's a link: http://reviews.cnet.com/google-nexus-7/
I have a daily maintenance of tablets...Lol!!! (just kidding) Haven't own one, actually, but I'd prefer to use smartphone or laptop or pc desktop. More powerful, exciting and easy on the eyes.
