    Galaxy S3 for sure
    • Better specs
      [*]better camera
[*]more apps, most of them are free
      [*]Cheaper
      [*]Bigger screen
[*]you don't have to use the crappy iTunes to transfer files to your phone
[*]Google Synchronization is awesome, you edit a contact on your GMAIL on the computer, and it's instantly edited on your phone and vice-versa

I dislike how big the S3's screen is. I have a Galaxy Nexus and the screen is quite large, and if it were larger it would be too large (it's pushing it already). The S3's screen is even larger than that, making it difficult to fit into pockets, pull out, and handle.

I prefer Android to iOS though and quite like my Galaxy Nexus.

It's really all about what you need from your phone. If you don't plan on gaming/ doing something really intense get the Galaxy Nexus. If you want to game/ do intense stuff get the S3. If you're not interested in rooting your phone you'd probably just be happier with the iPhone.

I voted for Galaxy S3 but if i had the money and i could find a Google Nexus 4 for the right price, i would get the Nexus 4 over any other cellphone currently available. :D

I would purchase the Samsung Galaxy S3 over apple anyday.

Currently using a Samsung Nexus S i9023 with CyanogenMod 10, Marmite Kernel, ClockWorkMod Touch Recovery 6.0.1.0.

I have had the Galaxy S3 for a few months and it is a great phone. I looked at the iPhone 4s and 5 and I do not like IOS very much. Also, Apple's attempt to sue the competition out of business over patents that never should have been granted tend to keep me from buying Apple in general.

My ideal choice of phones at the moment are:
Sharp Aquos SH-10D - water and dust proof.
    Meizu MX2
Oppo Find 5 which will be relased soon
    all Android based.

However I'd probably buy a much cheaper phone - there will be quad core Chinese Android phones relased next month with speeds close to the S3 which supposedly will be starting at less then $200.

I have nothing against Apple, but I would go with the Galaxy.

We do have Apple products in the house. iPhones and iPads, hopefully soon a Mac Pro. So it could be the iPhone 5.

I know if and when I buy one.

I have both Samsung S3 and Samsung Note II. Both have Omega ROM by indie.

Tomorrow, my Nexus 10 and Nexus 7 are being delivered to me. The first thing I will do is to "root" them.

Can you "root" Apple products? No way!

    Best regards,

No, but you can jailbreak them which is essentially the same thing. However like you I do prefer Android products, but prefer to go with cheap Chinese brands than name brand products due to the huge cost savings.

No I'm not wrong. Some manufacturers provide updates, some don't, it's that simple. Sure, on the whole, manufacturers tend not to provide updates, but some do.

Certainly, support for 4.2.1 is very limited at the moment, but that's only because it is so new - the first devices running 4.2.1 were reeased on the 13th of Novemeber - only 3 weeks ago.

Also, Android v4.1.2 is Jelly Bean, not ICS. The final version of ICS was 4.0.4.

Is it the manufacturer that releases OS updates? I read that for most android phones you have to wait untill your carrier releases the update.

It depends. For example, HTC sold the Raphael under their brand name and they released the Microsoft Windows OS for it under the HTC banner. The same was sold by ATT as ATT Fuze and the Windows OS was released under the ATT banner.

Same applied to HTC HD2, which was also sold as T-Mobile HD Leo. Both had Microsoft Windows OS, but under their own respective banners.

Basically, it is the manufacturer who releases the updated OS under their own banner first and then under the carrier banner.

    Best regards,
