Yes VS does block scripts, and thank you trjam for helping us out with this question. We will at some point create options for what types of scripts the user would like to block, but for now we just blocked all of the scripts that can be potentially malicious.

That is really odd. Are you using Task Manager, KillSwitch, or some other software to determine the CPU utilization? Does it noticeably slow down your system? Have you tried to reset your whitelist in the settings window? What processor and other security software are you using? Thank you!

well i am new to this thread,so sorry for asking, but from what i understand VoodooShield is based on whitelisting of files ?
so am right in assuming that there is an update system much like an antivirus, but instead of blacklists,it would update the whitelists ?

    Might not just be yours.

I had a similar problem with VS CPU spikes and have just reinstalled it. I found them using Task Manager. VS was also repeatedly blocking one or two processes that nothing else ever has. The final straw was the interference with audio playback on my laptop.

I like the product and have recently bought a one machine license. I figure it's pittance if VS lives up to its hype.

I've followed the advice here and reset the whitelist.

I'm now running WSA real-time and leaving VS to train itself stupid for the next few days before letting it loose.

Hopefully this extra training time will let it get used to my machine.

The only thing that I can tell you in your situation is that it is not WRSA. There are quite a few on here that run the WRSA and VS combination with no problems. I have run VS with WRSA both installed and not installed with no difference. The last time I tried VS it ran fine for a few hours then the CPU gradually went up to high levels. After reboots VS would be fine, but within an hour or so CPU was back up again. I never really got to a point of trying VS outside of training mode as my problems always occurred before training was finished, so I doubt leaving VS in training for an extended period of time will make any difference. I had tried toggling between training and regular modes of VS (even though I had not finished training) but it had no effects on CPU usage.

Funnily enough I've just had a VS pop-up asking me if I've finished training it.

From what I've gathered it should only take a few minutes to train before putting it into Smart, where it will still revert to training mode when not active.

According to the VS site the Always On mode can be used after a couple of weeks when VS is well trained.

I dunno. I want it to work :p. We'll have to see.

Hi arsenaloyal, actually the whitelist is created whenever VS is in training. Anything that you run in training mode is automatically whitelisted. Then when you start a web browser or email client, VS takes one last snapshot of your system and blocks anything that is not on the cumulative snapshot. We wanted the whitelist to be small and efficient as possible, and for it to be customized for each user, so that is how we came up with the idea for the snapshot. Thank you!

Hi crapbag, are you running the latest version? Sometimes the audio driver can be a little hard to train. If you pm your email address, I can look and see what the problem might be. Thank you!

If you have a chance, can you please email me your log the next time the cpu spikes? And the time that it occurred. The user log can be found here:

    C:\Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\VoodooShield\VoodooShield\0.94.0.0\log

    Thank you!

Hi arsenaloyal, VoodooShield is not designed to block exploits, rather it blocks the executable payload / process that the exploit drops, we believe it is a better method. People like to talk about exploits, but exploits are not viruses, they are a pathway for the virus. To become a virus that can actually do anything, an exploit has to spawn a new processes, and that is when VoodooShield kills it. Instead of trying to keep track of all of the new exploits, we kill the process that the exploit tries to start. Basically, VoodooShield blocks all processes that the user has not previously allowed, along with several scripts that can be malicious. If you have seen the antivirus reviews / tests on youtube, you will notice that the reviewer ALWAYS show the Task Manager to monitor whether an exploit or a virus has penetrated. When VoodooShield is ON, it will block all new processes that are not on the whitelist. Thank you!

working very well with Windows 8.

I have tried a ton of stuff with Windows 8, and some have really doen a very good job at preparing.

But I must say that VoodooShield used with Windows Defender or WSA may be the best yet. That equates to detection, prevention and system impact. Those are always my 3 areas of concern.

And of course, Hitman for backup.

    Ya dun good VS.:thumb:

Thank you for letting us know! Are you running Windows 32 or 64 bit? We have had some problems on our test systems with 64 bit and are working to fix them.

Hi ,i has sent you a message via support form one week ago but NO answer. This is a bad thing assuming that no matter how good a product is, it must have a good support also,so you dont have to write at various forums hoping with an answer.
I buy a license from your site at 11/14/12 (Transaction ID: 1C010590DP878223K) but when i register ,the product info says that it is valid until 8/31/13.
I cant think why this is hapenning!
If you see this, please help.I dont think support team will response to me anytime soon..
    Thanks.

We found your account and made the correction, please let us know if you have any other problems. You will need to exit out of VoodooShield and start it again to update the expiration date. We added some additional time for the inconvenience. Thank you!

Thank you, we appreciate that! No problem at all, we just never received your email. I would be upset too if a company did not reply to me as well! By the way, a new version should be released this week. There are NOT a lot of new features, but we have the engine running even better than before, and it is fully compatible with Windows 8. Thank you!
