    For me it's definitely Chrome.

Internet Explorer lags addons, otherwise I would definitely use IE.
Firefox feels extremely sluggish, especially when plugins are involved (Flash on Youtube in particular).
Opera is just a convoluted mess in my opinion. I am constantly triggering functions that I don't want to trigger just by performing wrong mouse movements while holding down certain keys. Sure, you can disable all of it, but if I have to choose between a browser that is usable out of the box and one where I need to spend 15 minutes to set up correctly I choose the former.

I use Google Chrome as my web browser, because of the quick loading of webpages, build in sand-box, synchronization options with other google products or easy to share bookmarks to the web browser of your smartphone of android tablet, automatic updates.

    Doesn't it always? ;)

And to think that only a year or so ago people were predicting its complete demise by now. o_O

What's the problem with Firefox being the winner? It's just a poll.

No problem at all, as long as there's a Firefox there will be SeaMonkey. ;)

It's just that Firefox's demise has been regularly predicted on these forums, yet it is still very popular.

Like I said a long time ago, it ain't going away any time soon.

Firefox will survive because of their fanboys out there. I have to say that I tried IE, Chrome, Opera for months at a time and I always come back to Firefox. Im not a fanboy but I simply got so used to the browser that I simply won't let it go. Heck, I even use Firefox 2.0 theme on my PaleMoon 15.3.... I just wish FF had official 64 bit version.

I stopped using IE on my notebook after one day, the day after I bought the computer I downloaded Firefox. The difference was astounding. I never use IE now (hardly) on any computer I own. When I had problems with Firefox I tried other browsers. SeaMonkey (the father of Firefox) was the one I liked the best. I still run Fx as a back up. One of the things I prefer about SM is that I can easily make DDG or Start Page as my default search engine. In Fx it is an <about:config> job. Both browsers use the same Gecko rendering engine anyway.

I was just saying, i though Chrome would top 2012 poll but seems like i was wrong. Wilders members are very stubborn to change and weird guys so it can be expected. :D :D

Over the past year I've come to like Pale Moon (and especially its development path) so much, that from sometime ago its been my default browser, so I voted other.
I'd be more interested in IE10 (as it seems fast and secure) if there were more add-ons available, but that's probably a common viewpoint, and one of the biggest attractions of Firefox is the vast selection of extensions, themes etc available.

If it were based purely on security alone, I have no doubt that Chrome would be top dog. Wilders members are stubborn to change? I've seen some posters in here change programs more often than McDonalds changes out their grease :D Chrome is the best for security, other areas are debatable.

FF with NS + ABP is way more secure than Chrome by itself. I think that's why most wilders in here use FF.

By the way favourite is spelled favorite :)

It's not close to being as secure, let alone "way more". You have to take into consideration default browser protection, of which Firefox has barely any. NoScript is a wonderful tool, but it caters to a specific threat, that being bad scripting. All ABP can really do is protect you from bad ads and trackers..if they're already in the filter lists ((malware domains as well should you choose to suscribe to that list)). And by the way, favourite is not an incorrect spelling. Automated spell-checkers just tend not to be British ;)

There are tons of old school Wilders. (Latest & greatest does not always means better but IMO Chrome is better :D)

As for security though, Firefox/SeaMonkey can be hardened quite well. I recommend PrefBar for a lot of easily accessed control. It can be customised to individual taste & easily hidden with the F8 button. It can also be placed on the bookmarking toolbar as a drop-down. It was originally developed for K-Meleon. It was invaluable on that browser. It is just as good on Fx & SM. I can easily enable/disable Java for instance. As a precaution I normally surf with the Java (not to be confused with JavaScript) disabled anyway. An old trick from the K-Meleon days.
