Could you tell me which list do you use ?

Does it depends where you live (Asia, America, Europe) ?.

    Thanks

Peerblock didn't work on my pc years ago, so I had to stay with peerguardian (works great btw). If peerblock doesn't work on your pc I can send you peerguardian.

Yes, but on windows xp it works good and in my case peerblock itself was a bug. Maybe not anymore, but if it is and he has xp he could try peerguardian.

Peerguardian still works for me. It updates bluetacklists and blocks without a problem. I have Outpost FW pro, but don't see the need to use that for ipblocking. I never looked into it, but guess you couldn't be better of than with peerguardian. I would say try it. You wouldn't be disappointed.

Both Peerblock and Peerguardian keep updating the blocklists, so it really doesn't matter if the software is up-to-date or not. I find Peerblock to be more practical though.

What's the difference between IP blocking from MBAM and Outpost FW?

For everyday use, surfing web, checking emails, watching youtube is it useful to have peerblock installed and running?

From what I understand peerblock and the like should mostly be used when your using your using a torrent program.

For browsing I think is more practical to add this filter list to adblock
    https://easylist-downloads.adblockplus.org/malwaredomains_full.txt

When I used peerblock I use it only for torrent, there is a setting to disable http blocks.

That would depend. PeerBlock was primarily developed (based on PeerGuardian) to block those anti-P2P IPs, but that doesn't necessarily mean you need to use it for that.

If you're one of such people, or know someone who could benefit from such additional security, you could instead add lists that block access to IP addresses spreading malware. But, unfortunately most of the useful (IMO) sources aren't available in PeerBlock's format.

Considering that not everyone has coding/scripting skills it gets a bit hard. Some folks are blessed, though. :D
