    Get ready to be stunned. I've written a long review of AriOS 4.0, a Ubuntu-based distribution with Gnome 3 desktop, focusing on live session, installation in a quadruple-boot setup and post-install use, including Wireless, Samba, look & feel, multimedia playback - Flash and MP3, applications choice, Gnome Shell extensions, printing, stability, suspend & resume, system resources, and various problems like visual glitches, branding, clutter, and more.

    Hi

    I find this a most confusing review. That does NOT relate to the title or initial comments.

    It is a bit like a chocolate bar teaser ad. but the reality.........

    I suppose a teacher might say

    "Can do better"

    Why not. Overwhelmed is how I felt, so how come it's not accurate?

    This review is one of the reasons I rarely stray from the "big boy" distros. Many of these off-shoots and distros with small teams end up being regrettable decisions. Still, this is a nice looking version at least. It's too bad it has so many issues.

    Why didn't you test LuninoxOS and Linux Deepin? They are both lovely GNOME 3 distros - I mean GNOME 3 distros heavily tweaked for desktop users. The idea is to take the GNOME 3 without all the pure GNOME 3 Shell drawbacks as we all know. They deserve reviews of their own - and indeed quite a few distros besides AriOS use GNOME 3 in a more traditional desktop configuration. Contrary to what Dedoimedo thinks - not all is without hope in GNOME 3! Cheers! :thumb:

    Sometimes lesser the cooks, better the broth, Sabayon and Chakra also manage fine without being BIG.

    I haven't used Sabayon in quite a long time, but when I did it was really a nice distro. You make a good point, but I've also witnessed smaller groups of cooks not have the time, effort or cohesiveness to get the soup right or out in reasonable time.

    Sabayon was quite slick and polished last time I took it for a spin....

    I agree and the best example is aptonsid or sidux, great rolling release thrown to the waste.
