Which Torrent client do you use?

Tixati I find it fast and effective.

 

my favorite was Bitlord v1
But v2 became heavy with 3rd parties..
Now im not using any torrent client bcoz i dont want anything from torrentsites
if needed i use utorrent

 

I've been using utorrent for years and I do agree with the rest. They did add quite a bit of bloat. I just downloaded qBittorent.

 

And natively portable like also Halite which is not mentioned in the poll

I used Tixati for a little while. While it was very low in resource usage and speedy, it liked to crash very frequently and sometimes acted like it couldn't connect to any sources/trackers. This was several months ago however.

 

I usually use uTorrent but I agree that it is getting bloated.

I am running 3.2.2 RC1, I followed and read the options of the installer to make sure it including no toolbars etc (as I do with every software I install) but the app itself seems to now include a 'Featured Torrent' area and no option to hide it. I even reinstalled uTorrent just to make sure I didn't miss it in the install options.

 

Used to be a BitTorrent before but since a couple years ago i switched to uTorrent. The reason? I don't know either, i just saw other people using it and decided to try it and have never looked back, it's small, light and non intrusive.

 

I use FrostWire beacuse of the built in search. Seems more logical than searching for torrents in a web browser.

I also use FlashGet 3 on some machines.

 

I don't use one anymore, but I have an install pack of the latest build of UTorrent v.2 laying around, and I think I'd just use that if I used one again. Unless I had reason to believe that version was vulnerable. It worked great, and had none of the bloat I see mentioned in here (and debated).

I've been a long term user of uTorrent however that was due to a misunderstanding that it was in fact open source. I am now looking into qBittorrent as a replacement p2p software.

 

I tried FrostWire and it seemed very slow in downloading torrents

 

I've never compared the download speed to other clients, mainly because I rarely download torrents.

zbigz.com is worth a mention.

It's a website which lets you download torrents online. You paste a torrent or magent url, and then it will download the torrent for you to thier own servers, and when it's finished there is a link to download the file to your computer.

You can use it without registering.

 

It's worth a small mention, as the download speed, file size limit and being ad-supported hurt its chances. Not many are going to be interested in a paid torrent client either for the extra boosts to the service.

 

The size limit per torrent is 8gb. I know that I've never downloaded a torrent anywhere near as big as that.

I find it useful to be able to download torrents without software.

 

I'd just rather rely on a more established and well known provider myself. It allows me to take care of various settings and security, and doesn't force any limitations on me.

 

I used Tixati until I noticed that it reported incorrect ratios. The latest version (v1.93) also doesn't calculate the ratio correctly.

So I flushed this junk and i'm now using qBittorrent without any problems.

 

Well, we are in the Wilders forums . . . What else can we expect.

Just trying Halite, seems like a very light client, and 64 bit version as well I'm currently still on Azureus/Vuze with all the nonsense/bloat features disabled because I liked it better than uTorrent but I've had it and want a light client now. Still deciding between Halite and qBittorent, anyone tried both?
