Recommend an Uninstaller for me plz

What's a reliable uninstaller? I'm always trying this or that program & need something I can depend on to uninstall my sampling of programs. At the moment i flip-flop from Win7 built-in unstaller, to CCleaner, to JV16 Powertools. None seem to do a good job & now & then make a mess of things.

Those two works great for me on different systems like XP,7 and even the new Windows 8.

 

I use IObit Uninstaller - free, portable, 64-bit compatible.

 

all uninstallers have created problems for me sooner or later. you are better off with virtualization via SBIE.

If you're willing to pay, Total Uninstall.

 

1 TB drive is <100$. Just use the built-in uninstaller. If you're afraid of slow downs because of registry crap, I think this is more of a myth than reality.

 

I use portable applications whenever possible, much easier to uninstall. Also, some .exe setup installers can be extracted with 7-Zip to create your own portable version. I've tried a few uninstaller apps but wasn't very impressed with any of them. The Windows uninstaller is usually good enough. You'll have to manually delete a few folders that are left behind but it's not a big deal. I'd forget about trying to clean up left-behind registry entries unless you have to for some reason. It'd be nice if Windows would do it, but it's usually not necessary.

 

Another vote for Revo.

AaLF I have seen you're using 7 at 64bit so in this case RevoFree is useless because it only manage 32bit programs you have installed and it can't see and manage your 64bit programs
Is a pain they want not get 64bit full operative job for free users, because revo is the best choice.
In your case 64bit program that can see 64bit part of the registry you can choose:
Portable free: geekUninstaller or Iobit uninstaller, they works googd but they are not perfects. If you wanna see Iobit better go to portableapps site and run their portable version that is 100% portable, no leftovers on the system.
Installable free: no doubt the best is advanced uninstaller pro that is free for all and compatible to 8 too

The last time I used Revo I had a very bad experience..

I formatted my system and Revo was the first thing I installed

Next, I installed all my drivers/apps while monitoring the installations with Revo, thought everything was perfect...

One day, Java got an update, so I uninstalled it using Revo....

Guess what? After the uninstallation, Revo wiped my entire Firefox profile and I had to start logging in to all my fav. sites and installing all the addons from scratch! pain ni the ***

I contacted Support and told them about this, then they issued me a refund, didn't even try to tell me what went wrong!

I love Geek Uninstaller even though It doesnt monitor installations, it always works to remove leftovers

strange how the pro version is called Total Uninstall though it's the first time I see an app's full version called a totally diff. thing

 

The problem with these uninstallers is for programs that require a reboot, they advise you to stop the monitoring THEN reboot but that defies the purpose as the program you installed will still add components after the reboot to the registry or system

anyone know of an uninstaller that monitors programs that require a reboot successfully?

 

I just bought Uninstall Tool Portable Edition which allows you to use it on more than one computer for personal use

There's also ZSoft Uninstaller if you want to monitor installations. On demand of course, you don't want stupid services running in the background

 

ZSoft can't read 64bit part of the registry so as Revo free is useless in this case and considerng now 70% of windows are 64bit ssystems it is a useless program

Further explanation: ZSoft Uninstaller v2.5 will run and work fine, for uninstalling, analyzing and whatnot, 32-bit programs on a 64-bit system. As said, this 'blindness' is 'as standard', and hopefully I'll be able to release a '64-bit-aware' version at some point.

@Berryracer: I have never try the monitoring feature in revo pro or TotalUninstall or so on, because is only a placebo\marketing features.
To work proprely it need only the monitored app working on the pc, and is not the case when u have AV, antimalware, MS services .... working on background.
I test almost all uninstaller simply as Uninstall program using their own uninstaller + scan registry to catch leftover
In this way of working revopro and advanced uninstaller pro were the best
Obvously same result if you use own uninstaller + open regedit finding all possibly leftover but is not safe for basic user
