    I dont think so somehow.
I question the ethics of this company considering they were caught stealing another software companies data and this is a big no-no for me.! :ninja:

sigh......another snake oil app! This needs to STOP!

I am tired of seeing a new thread every day about some magical app that will make my computer faster and magically fix 3rrors

I'm using the beta - I haven't upgraded to the non beta version yet.

A decent utility suite, however as if often the case with such programs the repair abilities are exaggerated. There are very few problems that utility suites like this will fix.

Only one i use now is ccleaner which has never given me any problems.
Im always sceptical of these sort of utilities.:argh:

Somebody force you to read these threads? Or use these apps? I don't think so.

It's true that people don't have to read these threads and therefore don't really need to complain....however....there are certain boundaries which should be applied when permitting threads in my opinion. I personally consider the theft of property from another company to be an excellent reason to ban discussion of or links to the offending company.

As to its effectiveness..let's just say I'm an unbeliever in the "all-in-one" solution. A product like this touting the features it does is bound to fail..and hard.. in one of those areas. Depending upon said area, the result could be annoying, snake oil or a disaster.

I could see giving the company a second chance IF they admitted to their mistake and issued a public apology.

Has IOBit done that, or have they always denied it?

Thanks Narxis but I will pass as for my personal preference is not for theses type of programs.

AFIK they have always denied it. However their software is used and trsuted by millions - Advaned SystemCare has nearly 80 million downloads at download.com, and is the 13th most download software there last week.

That's a shame. ASC does a lot and the GUI is really cool :D but if they won't even admit to their mistake then it's a no-go. Also sad millions of people trust them. One of my friends used it until I told him.

How could they deny it with irrefutable proof?

EDIT: I noticed CNET, Softpedia, and MajorGeeks all host IOBit software. I contacted CNET but will not contact the others as I believe it would probably be pointless...

Some companies are like some people. They don't mind stealing. But they have problems being revealed as a thief.

Once they steal once, whats to stop them from doing it again. It makes it very difficult to ever trust again.

    1. I don't use these kind of products anymore (I only use CCleaner with CCEnhancer).

    2. I NO longer Trust IObit...

I wouldnt put 100% faith in ccenhancer either.
Its not a piriform supported product and could cause issues as it adds more cleaning schedules.:argh:

I know that CCEnhancer is Not officially supported by Piriform.
In my system, I've never had any problems with CCEnhancer though...

Oh well, here we go again.
I think this thread is better closed people will keep talking of what happened a couple years ago instead of the software itself.

I can see where some people believe the two cannot be separated. If you cannot trust the company how can you trust their products? Others may simply feel like it's a moral decision to not support a company with such poor ethics.

Yeah but i think it's not worth it, if 8 posts out of 10 are bashing the company then what's the point.

Off-Topic: YES, an apology was posted by Iobit. >.>

Anyway, I agree with Noob. The bashing isn't doing readers any good and only makes me think how much people need to grow up and move on. *cough*

I've been using CCleaner but recently I tested ASC 5.3 a few months ago and stuck with it when v6 came out. I snatched one license from a giveaway and have it running on my laptop. The "Surf Protection" module interested me the most, and main reason why I use the Pro version. I wonder if they use a third-party's URL blacklist?

I only tried ASC once out of interest a while ago.

I had just used msconfig to stop something running at startup. (sorry, cannot remember item)

Ran ASC and the malware remover bit said it was fixing a malware item, turned out when I looked it had seen my change in the registry for my startup entry via msconfig as a malware related change.

    I didn' use it anymore.
