scanning android apps

i often download android apps to my pc before transferring them to my phone.
Will ESS scan the .apz files for android maleware?

 

No idea on that but why not put an AV/Security on your android/smart phone.
I've tried a few including Dr Web and "Kaspersky" which I now have.
ESET has one for android if that's your preference.
Besides the windows version of AV's probably will not detect malware for android.

 

Your ESET Software does scan for over the air borne malware, including Android borne.

Unless the file extension is set to exclude at on-demand or heuristic scanning, it will be scanned.

 

why not try some android AV's like LoneWolf said? i use avast!Mobile security, it seems its one of the best if not the best AV for android and is free

eset kinda dropped the ball here though, since they dont support rooted phones my mobile license went to waste because of that

 

thanks for the replies. Installing an AV app on my phone is a must but I was just interested in knowing if any PC AV software would or could detect android maleware in android files .apz being stored or downloaded to a PC.

The OP was asking if ESET A/V would protect against Android based malware.
ESET A/V proactively protects against these threats.

The OP was not asking if ESET Mobile Security would protect his PC.
