In my Windows 7 system, EEK is much faster than RoboScan...

We don't release a new version just to change the header. If we do update some of the actual application we may change the header as well. It's the same with HiJackFree really.

Yesterday i did a very noobish test of MalAware and it seems it really does skip tons of directories. (I mean more than HMP) :D

If log that MalAware creates is to be trusted then this program only scans applications running in memory and traces of known malware. Equivalent of EAM/EEK Quick Scan I believe.

True, just noticed that because it only detected active malware. :thumb:

Mine is a Fusion AMD E350 Lenovo s205 Netbook with 3gb ram, Sandisk SSD 128GB working on a sata2 controller, windows 7 64bit almost fresh install and backgroud apps are only Roboscan and ExeRadarPro antiexe, nothing more than this
Is not the best pc, and sata2 is not sata3 but as you can see in the pic EEK is not the best choice to find malware in a pc
Roboscan first complete full scan is less than 19 minutes (and second scan will be better due the fact it can remember some just scanned files), pc is usable during scan.
EEK full complete scan in 83 minutes and pc is not usable during scan (EEK needs 99% cpu usage)
They use at 80% the same engine (Bitdefender) so EEK is 4 time longer than Robo, and realy heavy scanning the same pc in the same situation complete full scan for the first time.
A friend of mine in notebook pentium 2, 4 gb, win7 64bit, sata2, using a "best buy" and best performance Samsung ssd 128gb model 830, have almost same results, Robo scan is less then 18 min and eek is more than 75 min.
In the past I use eek for check friends pcs, and I need more than 6 hours to scan :'( . EEK is powerfull, free, portable but is impossible to use when catch malware in a "not at your home" pc expecially if it is a 5400 rpm normal HD.
IMHO Emsi needs rewrite completly the engine (I'm talking about complete full scans), or if you needs only 5 minutes to a complete full scan, emsi was focused only in sata3 and modern intel i5 cpu performance and is not a good choice for not new pcs
