Probably detect Mamutu.

In Avast used sandbox.

Methodology in Flash Test:

1) Detecting the sample upon download
2) Detecting the sample downloaded to the desktop during an on demand scan
3) Detecting and blocking execution of the sample on the desktop
4) In the case of financial malware, preventing data breach by any active sample.

Or it could of been the Emsi engine. Look at past results when they were using the ikarus engine. Ikarus never did too well at 0 hour. But Bitdefender over-all performs a little bit better than ikarus at 0 hour.

 

and Eset continues to show why, they and McAfee will be the top products for 2013.

Great job Avast! It has improved so much since 4.8 when I started using it. SAS ouch, even MSE beat it...

 

Yeah, their in house engine got the rest, same story as Ikarus, in previous tests Ikarus missed tons of samples but EAM caught all of them.
BTW i'm not sure which version of EAM they are testing.

 

Not the first time. I wonder why they just cant wait when is ready rather than empty announcements that never translate into reality (re-test of security applications against their simulator was annouced months ago and never happened).

Well, MRG have shown some problems releasing test results in the past. (I mean the date they say it will be released)

 

Well, whenever they do, I want to know exactly how they set up Sandboxie for the test if possible. Using Sandboxie as default and digging in and setting restrictions on what can run and what has access to where make huge differences.

AVG & Microsoft were the 'most challenged' of the AVs.

And Superantispyware is the worst overall. This product is truly useless. Even 12 hours later it is by far the worst product. Some still defend this product . Whatever.

The testing results on that blog appear to be manipulated or misleading. Are those results shown on the blog taken from this test on the MRG website. -www.mrg-effitas.com/current-tests/flash-test-results/ If so then they must have shown the results from only some of the malware samples tested on the blog.
