With the lack of changes from 2012 to 2013 version id be surprised if there were issues.I personally don't find it lighter or faster than previous version ,rather about the same.I also think the 2013 gui was changed to make it look as if its a completely new product (aka windows 8 )rather than something from last year thats been dressed up.With most of the avs neck and neck in detection ,and most new pcs able to handle any drag on their system a pretty gui is about all that separates them imo.

"you may have noticed some improvements to the Norton Toolbar - the Share button and the Online Vault"

Running NIS2013 very smoothly on my 8 year old WinXP PC. Was half expecting it to run like crap, but fair is fair, it is very sweet indeed. Hopefully with stay that way for the next 30 days, then who knows...

Same problem in this version as in previous version.

If I manually live update and then Stop it in between then it hangs and there is no way to close the windows.
Anyone else facing with same problem ??

no probs here, takes a little while to close if I do what you say(approx 3-4 secs)but assume it has to finish which part of update it has started before closing ie checking/downloadind/installing

I've not read this whole thread but wanted to ask, when installing NIS 2013 will it remove MBAM? If not, will it allow MBAM to run real time at the same time as running NIS?

It won't remove MBAM. You're best running it "ON DEMAND" though, running two antispywares in real time lessens your pc protection by tampering or interfering with them! Best thing to do is to ask this on the Norton forum (google).

I've seen claims that some have been able to run real time. You should probably exclude them from each other if you choose to do so. I would be more likely to run MBAM on demand. I've lately been debating with myself as to use MBAM at all. I currently don't have it installed for lack of need for it. I may regret it if the need comes up but I haven't had an infection of any kind since the days of XP.

MBAM is not on-access but on-execution scanner.

Is there a fix from norton regarding the shut-down issue? I had to uninstall NIS after it didn't allow my pc to shut-down completely.

I just got around to installing NIS 2013 today.

Fix came in as a patch in the first batch of updates I downloaded. First time I ever saw Norton issue a "patch."
