How good is Emsisoft 7?

well after extensive testing in my VM, emsisoft antimalware pro is very solid against malwares. I have not yet been able to infect the vm with emsisoft antimalware pro test set with maximum protection and tweaked. But on my on-demand scanning it did not reach top score but it has high score.

 

Anyone knows why Bitdefender signatures in Emsisoft takes much less space than F Secure's bitdefender folder?

121 mb (Emsisoft) x 336 mb ( F Secure)

 

I'm sure that the Internet Security will be heavier than the Anti-Malware just? Does OA slowdown the downloading or browsing?

Ok, I have now installed the Internet security and it looks good so far. Any recommended configuration settings? I have already excluded the "Emsisoft" folder in OA's exclusion list and, in the AM's whitelist, I have added OA's four processes (as recommended by their support staff).

 

Correct me if im wrong here but isnt the internet security pack basically online armor and EAM combined..
So what you are paying for in reality is the real-time scanning of EAM.
I can get online armor firewall for free.
EAM has a free version and the only difference is real-time scanning.

Im trying to ascertain what the security pack contains and from what ive gathered its EAM and the OA firewall components.

Emsisoft Internet Security Pack is just a bundle of 2 software. (EAM + OA Premium)
There is a free version of OA but it has some features deactivated.

Running EAM + OA is indeed a bit heavier than just running either program alone, you might notice the startup will take a couple seconds more and sometimes launching apps for the first time (Such as the browser) will take more time.

 

Had you said it a bit earlier, I would have most definitely not installed it.

 

was testing this new version on my VM and it failed on my first basic test.

downloaded a trojan and EAM picked it up;
chose to quarantine it but for some reason the file was still left on desktop
double clicked the trojan on desktop
VM got infected with a rogue AV
not a peep out of EAM (antivirus or behavior component)

never did work out why EAM got bypassed so easily, maybe it was a VM incompatibility, who knows.

think i will stick to comodo on my real machine

 

For what I have tested so far, it performed just as expected. Rock solid.

The program is good. Improvement requires blocking infected hosts on the Polish sites and improve Mamutu. Even from a marketing point
