I suggest to whitelist the OA processes.
Open Guard > File Guard > Manage whitelist.

    First column, select process
Second column, click once and a small button appears, click the button and select the OA process you want to exclude from Behavior Blocker and File Guard.

Repeat these steps for the other OA processes you want to exclude.

Re: What is your security setup these days?

The above was posted on September 20, on Page 7 of this thread, item #153

I just got this large update. Why so large? I haven't updated this snapshot for last two days, but even so...

Can you send the log of that particular update to fw@emsisoft.com please? Thanks :).

Thanks. I looked through the changes made around that time on those signature files and it seems that we changed the classifications of thousands of signatures. As a result literally hundreds of signature files changed and were re-downloaded resulting in this rather large update.

I purchased a 3 user pack:) Emsisoft runs light in my windows 8 pc. I am new to this software. I need some clarifications. My version is 7.0.0.12. Do I need to enable beta updates to get maximum protection? Will beta updates affect system stability? I want to use security related plugins like WOT and trafficlight in firefox. Will they conflict with emsisoft surf protection? Can I enable SRP in my system?

Sorry for asking too many questions:rolleyes:

7.0.0.12 is the current 'stable' version.
It provides more than adequate protection.
You don't need trafficlight as Emsisoft uses the bitdefender engine and it's own blocked site list in it's 'surf protection' module.
    No point to overlap.

I think surf protection is not working with IE10 in windows 8.

Its easy to see if it works, almost every page has some kind of statistics/ads from Google and EAM blocks it. Try accessing a website like gamespot.com you will get a couple notifications from surf protection. (BTW, i have configured Surf Protection to tell me every time it blocks something)

I have tried accessing -http://www.forumswindows8.com/- using firefox and EAM blocked it. But I could access the site using IE10. I have scanned the site in virustotal and none flags it. I think it is a false positive.

Yeah, could be a false positive.

No doubt this has been asked before. But please tell again for my info.

OK....... Emsisoft doesn't seem to appear on those monthly AV comparatives charts but Bitdefender does. And is always a 'contender for the #1 title".

So can I assume Emsisoft inherits Bitdefenders scores or is Emsisoft's BD engine configured differently & therefore Bitdefender's score cannot be 'claimed' by Emsisoft??

You have to take into account that those Monthly results from AV-Comparatives are based on real world tests which not only takes into account the engine and it's signatures but the whole package, however i would say that EAM would perform really good anyways, it has 2 awesome engines + Behavior Blocker. :D

If the VB100 rap tests are to be believed, both EAM and BDIS perform similarly in terms of "detection". However that comes from the usage of same database.
one may expect the "protection" ratings to be different as it is largely dependant on the handling of different modules, not just the engine used

    Emsisoft Anti-Malware

Merry Christmas to All Our Members!!!!

I am sure our members are familiar with Emsisoft their main software is Online Amor and Anti-Malware software. I am running both on my laptop and find it to be quite compatible with no issues to date. What I like is their anti-malware as it uses two engines for detection, Emsisoft and Bit Defender. I realize there are numerous anti-virus software you can try and that is your choice. If anyone is interested in trying Emsisoft Anti-Malware here is the direct download link (just a reminder its 242 MB) you can trial it out and take it from there if you wish.
